Since her wedding to French President Nicolas Sarkozy less than a year ago, Carla Bruni-Sarkozy has made waves over what she does --and doesn't-- wear, most recently suing a fashion chain for nearly $170,000 for printing a nude image of her on tote bags. And all this rather dry, litigious stuff makes it a fun time to look back at the days when Bruni could afford to be a little less inhibited.

i think carla is a gourgeous woman... regarding, her weight, i think in her runway days she was probably underweight, but her body-type makes her naturally thin, so it wasn't that much. i remember when the nude photos came out of her while she was first lady! imagine if that were to happen to one of our first ladies... i think it would be great, to show the sensual side of some of these political women who have to act so conservative all the time.

Well, all I can say is I have a 19 yr old neice who's 5'11 and weighs 135 lbs but eats like a horse. If I didn't see it with my own eyes I would believe she was anorexic. But she's a well-adjusted young lady with an enviable metabolism. Is she too thin, yes, but I know she's healthy. Maybe this was the case for Ms. Bruni.

Sorry, but when I think about her, I always see that too-weird photo where she was sitting in her daddy's lap. It was in Vanity Fair, I think, years ago. I remember it was the first time I had heard of her and I remembered it because she was dating Eric Clapton--or had dated him. Little wonder he married a nice, normal woman---not a model or "actress".
