Gwyneth's Mom Says Her Marriage Is Fine

Fox News:

You pretty much can't pick up a supermarket tabloid or read a gossip blog without getting this message: Gwyneth Paltrow's marriage to Coldplay's Chris Martin is over. That's it, done, over and out, stick a fork in 'em.

There are many "reasons" given for this starting with the insistence that because no pictures have been taken of the couple together in recent months, they must be finito. It makes so much sense!

Not so, however. I recently had a nice chat with Gwyneth's mom, the splendid actress Blythe Danner. She was very surprised when I told her what was going on.

"They don't take pictures together if they can avoid it. It's a strategy. They don't want the pandemonium." She might have been referring to endless publicity seeking of couples like Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, the Beckhams, and Brangelina.

In fact, Danner says the couple are just fine, thanks. "They're staying in England for the new year. Then coming here."

Yeah, right. Where there's smoke, there's fire. I don't know why these American chicks think living in their spouse's country will be easy splitting time with families. I'll bet Chris Martin wants to spend the majoriity of his time and raising his children in England. Madonna wanted to live in the U.S. She tired of England. Same thing with Diana Ross's husband. He did not want to live in the U.S and she did. Isn't this discussed BEFORE the wedding?

It may be fun during dating jetting back and forth but when its time to settle down, I couldn't imagine permanently living thousands of miles away across the Atlantic, from my family. I've met foreign women married to American soldiers who haven't seen their parents and family in over 20 yrs. There's a sadness when they discuss it too. In Germany, the German wives try to make their American husbands stay as long as possible but when orders come they've got to go.

Blythe Danner is one of my favorite actresses EVER! She's beautiful and classy and super talented. Plus, both of my kids met her (at different times) at their performing arts school and she was lovely to both of them. She's very encouraging to young artists and that makes her extra special in my book.
