A Long Island PTA official has been charged with endangering the welfare of a child after police say she was caught half-naked in a car with a 13-year-old boy.
Joan Tuckruskye, 44, of Baldwin, N.Y., was found with the boy in the parking lot of Meadow Elementary School. When an officer approached the Nissan Pathfinder, neither was wearing pants, according to police.

It's a very touchy subject, and I'm absolutely serious in saying that everyone who has made a comment of support, even in jest, will almost certainly be targeted for download and email interception, and placement of NSA worms in their computers. You have probably hit on the most important aspect of this incident.Hopefully they're all old enough to have a little maturity and are able to withstand the pressure of what's coming.Kids can be cruel to each other even if they mean no harm.
As far as the 13 year old boy goes I'm not sure what to think.Hopefully the matter will be examined with maturity and with his welfare first and foremost in mind.
I have four daughters of my own now and I do understand how protective fathers are of their daughters.I don't have any sons but I'm sure I would be just as protective of their emotional well being.That being said,what if this were just a random act on his road to maturity and never repeated and remembered in a pleasant way,but now it's a grotesque memory filled with apprehension because of the publicity.
The reason we have laws on the books outlawing this teachers behavior is because we have no way of measuring the damage to younger children with each situation having different complications.That's why it's imperative for adults to assume such behavior will not not be tolerated because we set those age limits for a reason and if you don't like it,too bad,it's still the law.Keep your pants on and change the law if you can,but don't disregard it.

This society decries sex crimes and spends its time sensationalizing them. This incident should have been handled in a low-key way. The woman needs mental help, the child needs privacy.
