I Like ItI Don’t Like It
Late Night

The late-night shows not in repeats had a field day Monday night with the Bush shoe-throwing incident. Below is a video of some of the best from Conan, Leno, Letterman and Ferguson.

A few of jokes:

Letterman: I don't think President Bush has dodged anything like that since, well, the Vietnam War.

Leno: Looks like we finally found something President Bush is good at - dodgeball!

Ferguson:
The shoe-throwing incident has made Sarah Palin want to be president even more. Free shoes! You betcha!

Conan: He's being hailed as a hero in Iraq... when he dies he'll be greeted in heaven by 172 podiatrists.

Those and much more in the video below.

Stuff happens when you do victory laps prematurely as in "Mission Accomplished". Who paid for that sign on the aircraft carrier anyway? Propoganda not being what public funds are allocated to the Pentagon for. Wasn't them. Bush's Office? The GOP? The Tooth Fairy?

Hope the Iraqi journalist gets his shoes back so he can sell them on E-Bay for a fat profit. A source of revenue for a fundraiser for who? Or an example of how the free enterprise system works?

Did anyone else notice that when Conan went one way, his hair went the other way?

The difference between Iraqi journalists and American journalists:

Bush lies, and--

Iraqi journalists throw shoes at him;

American journalists say, "Gosh, really? Tell me more."

I posted this at another article:
Mark my words, if the shoe thrower makes it out of jail alive and well, he could have a very promising future in Iraqi politics. If he dies in jail, he will become a martyr in the Arab world, and U.S. troops will likely be driven out of Iraq.

I read that the shoe-guy could get two years in jail. I think it should be a lot more...after all, he missed!

Lucky guy, if this had happened in the 80's under Saddam him and his whole family would have been shot.

What is with that long-chinned tool (Leno) and his constant jokes about MSNBC?

Leno is a Republican.

No he's not. I;ve seen him interview politicians, and he doesn't outright say his views, but you can tell that he is definitely left-wing.

Shoe hurling as an Olympic sport? The Iraqi's aim scored an 8.25 but his failure to anticipate where bush would duck cost him 0.75.

This is the perfect message that will go down in history of how the bush presidency wrapped up in Iraq.

Gee, I wish I could have a good laugh here at work about the shoe thing. But I live in Texas, and I work with a bunch of folks who feel like Bush is really being mistreated by America. One guy told me that Bush doesn't deserve the disrepect he's getting and that he's being treated more badly than any president in history. I reminded him that Truman and Carter both were treated pretty bad. The repubs just have to suck it up until they get another "Regan" in office. Although I shudder at the thought of another republican holding the highest office in the land.

So in the meantime, when I want a good laugh about the shoe incident, I come to this post. It puts a smile on my face every time!

Oh how I can relate! I'm in Texas as well. I was employed by the closest thing to Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, and Bill O'Reilly all wrapped up into one. He went as far as to compare himself to Reagan when Reagan died. He claimed to have the same great sense of humor that Reagan had. Oh please.... I've had to bite holes in my tongue to keep from telling him what a fool he sounded like. I eventually couldn't stand it anymore and as soon as Obama won the nomination, I opened my own "green" business.

This truly is the only place one from Texas can come for some sanity. Talk radio in this state is full of hate with the likes of the above and more. The local talk radion is nothing but a bunch of O'LimbHann wanna be's.
