Think Progress:

In 2000, when then-Texas Governor George W. Bush officially became the President-elect, he said that he was "optimistic that we can change the tone in Washington, DC." But now, after eight contentious years in the White House, Bush is admitting that he failed. During a discussion at the American Enterprise Institute today, Bush said that though he came into office "with the idea of changing the tone in Washington," he "didn't do a very good job of it."

Bush could not change the tone in Washington. He was not in charge of the Democrat's venomous Bush-hatred. The pack of rabid Pit Chihuahuas continued to bite his ankles no matter how much he tried to feed them some nice Alpo.

And Jack the Ripper didn't do a very good job of making the streets safer.

He is going to have an "interesting" post presidency....HIs handlers have shielded him thus far from most of his critics But come February with little else to do he is going to start to wonder what people think about him and the rose colored glasses are not going to help. (thats IF he gives a sh& t)

Here's our low IQ(122? That's a laugh.) resident of the WH saying he didn't do a very good job of something. Try as I may, being as generous as I can be, I can think of not one thing he and/or his R congresses did that we can call a good job. Can anyone name one?

Basically, he screwed up everything...tone at this point is the least of his problems. A fact from history,
every enterprise he took charge of, he drove it into the ground. Pathetic that anybody let him have a chance at our government, not once, but twice.

He's the master of the understatement and misstatement.

I can't wait for this bozo to be relegated to the dank and dusty basement of history.

He's changed the tone alright. He's made it worse than what it was before he came into office 8 years ago. I said this in one of the other threads. GWB has the Midas touch in reverse. Instead everything he touches turning to gold, everything Bush touched, be it the business he's run in the past, the Texas Rangers baseball team, or being POTUS, has turned to crap. So yeah, he hasn't done a good job at all.
