I Like ItI Don’t Like It

We've long known that doctors are highly sought after for marriage, but the news isn't so good for journalists and advertisers.

It really does pay to be a doctor, with an international survey showing the medical profession is the most trusted, among the most admired and includes the most eligible marriage partners.

By contrast, actors and musicians, along with journalists and advertisers, were among professionals that people trusted the least, and were also least likely to choose a partner from, according to a survey by Synovate, the market research arm of Aegis Group plc.

I was married to a journalist and it was a nightmare. They put in all the hours that docs do, but you don't have any money---ever. They are obsessive about news, and will always put a story above you. They also get very cynical after a few years and have a dark outlook on people. My ex dealt with so many politicians that he decided that trust was always a mistake. It can also be a boy's club toward the top, where my ex was. Then you add all the sweet young interns to the newsroom who are dying to get a real job there and you eventually get a busted-up marriage. I wouldn't wish it on anyone.

I'm with a naturalist/writer now. He takes kids on nature walks and writes books about local wildlife. Much, much happier.

I've known lots of people who have had doctor dads who were sort of sad and insecure because they never saw their fathers growing up--they were always at work. They deeply respected them, and liked them, and then never really had them.

um. I'm a married surgeon. And on my first wife, may I add. Not sure if my wife dabbled in actors or journalists before me. She has asked me to read the Worst People in the World in bed...what's up with that? At least she's not having me pretend to be Rachel Maddow...that could get uncomfortable. Although her sarcasm is a little sexy...

I dated two doctors. One was an arrogant (expletive deleted) and the other was the biggest fussbudget I'd ever met. My favorite ex? A cop.

Correct, not everyone wants to get married and procreate. That includes both men and women. I sure as heck don't.

I wouldn't marry a doctor. I dated a doctors son for awhile..a surgeon and he left his wife for a nurse. Not my thing. I like someone who has time for me.

Any woman who thinks marrying a doctor is a great idea should go to work for a group of doctors first. Particularly surgeons have some major issues many women wouldn't want to have to deal with.

I totally agree!!! I am an actress/singer/songwritter ; but my Husband is the head of an ER Department here in Switzerland.

I dated a few musicians and actors, even journalist; but none of them stimulated my mind the way my Dr. Feelgood has!!

"Doctor, Doctor, give me the news , I gotta bad case of lovin' you!"

I don't really like doctors, so I could hardly imagine being married to one. I dig journalists though... well intelligent ones lol

Pinsky is not a real doctor. He's nothing but a pill-pusher in my opinion.

Have you seen his show? He's no more a real doctor than I am President Obama. Or am I? hmmmm

I hate his shows too. But he is a board certified physician. I used to listen to the radio show, Loveline, when I was younger and he does give good sensible advices to the callers. The tv shows however are craptacular.

I adore KO but he is not "marriage material". His numerology says he is a #7 Life Path and those folks enjoy privacy and solitude, and some take it to the extreme of being "loners". We call them the Solitary Students. Marriage is not a priority for them.

If he's dating anyone, I sure hope she's not waiting around for a ring, because she'll be old & barren by the time he asks, if he ever asks at all.

Everyone is not meant to be married or have children.

Can people who have that particular number overcome it or is it a destiny? I've known people who seem like "Solitary Students". Don't know anything about numerology. Any good links?
