JUSTIN LEVENS, SARAH MCLEAN-LEVENS: Murder-Suicide Possible, Says Police

A mixed martial arts fighter and his wife were found shot to death in a Laguna Niguel condominium in what authorities said was an apparent murder-suicide.

The bodies of Justin Levens and his wife, Sarah McLean-Levens, were found Wednesday afternoon, Orange County sheriff's officials said. The 28-year-old Levens competed in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), World Extreme Cagefighting (WEC) and other organizations. Levens hasn't fought in UFC or WEC since 2006, and one of his losses that year was to Evan Tanner, who died on a desert trip this year.

Then I'm not sure when there was a time that predates society going south. Back in the day, boxing was way bloodier than it is now and was pretty much on par with ultimate fighting, probably.

Though it's hard to believe, society has actually done a lot to moderate the violence of sports from their origins. It's just that they didn't have pay-per-view and the internet back then, so we tend to think of the past as some sort of mythic peaceful age. Far from it.

The sport is ridiculous. Back when UFC first started it was the most intense thing I ever watched. Literally the only rules were no biting, and no shots to the crotch. After it was banned it almost every city they changed it to the reality show circus it is today. Now it's just an outlet for neanderthal frat boys and seems really quite pathetic. But I still don't like to see these guys taking out other people in their suicides. If you want to kill yourself, be my guest. But nobody should be taking out loved ones in the process.
