Earlier this week, A.C. Thompson of The Nation revealed that after Hurricane Katrina, white vigilante groups patrolled New Orleans, blockaded streets, and shot at least eleven black men. It "was like pheasant season in South Dakota.

This matter needs to be handled by the new Department of Justice under Obama. Only the FBI will be able to deal with this correctly.

I read about this a year ago. It really made me sick to my stomach. The first thought those folks had was to go round up and kill black men Post-Katrina. Why isn't Jindal doing or saying anything about this travesty? If he wants to emerge as the leader of his party then he needs to lead on real issues, not follow in the line of culture wars.

Are you serious? Blacks kill whites everyday without any backlash. Check any newspaper for any major American city and you'll see the same story over and over, black crime.
Black people make up about 12 1/2% of the population yet committ over half of all violent crimes in America.
I do agree that this group that indiscriminately killed blacks in New Orleans needs to be in jail but I disagree that the actions are ignored because the crimes were committed by whites.

And, how about the fact that there is an underlying reason for crime...ba­d education in city schools, culture.
