Press TV:

The Iraqi journalist who shocked the world by throwing his shoes at the US president reportedly says he would do it again if given the opportunity.

"In a letter to Iraqi prime minister, Muntadhar al-Zaidi has only apologized to Nuri al-Maliki himself," Fardanews reported, citing comments by an Iraqi source familiar with the case.

"He said that he felt no remorse for throwing his shoes at the 'Great Satan', George Bush, and added that he would repeat his actions if he sees him again, because Bush's forces have killed many of Iraq's children," added the source.

"Free Muntadhar al-Zaidi!"

Does not lend itself to easily rolling off the tongue.

In sports, like boxing, for example, the idea is to aim for the center of the body, as opposed to the head. The center of the body is harder to move around, so easier to hit.
The head is at one end of the body, so easily movable.

Just sayin'.

Actually the aim was pretty good. But the lame duck can really duck.

It is interesting that he uses the term "great satan", ala the Mullahs in the Islamic Republic of Iran. personally i have no problem with him hating bush, but being a proffesional journalist, credentialed to appear before a press conference, and to throw a shoe is beyond the pale.

For some "great satan" is like "axis of evil".

Or here in the States calling a candidate a "socialist".

It all propaganda against President Bush. How can a person ask for a pardon for a crime he would commit again if freed?

Because the person wants to practice his aim so he doesn't miss the next time?

WHATEVER HEGIHOUS CRIME, ONE HAD COMMITTED, IT WAS VERY DISTATEFUL TO
DISPLAY THE CORPSES OF SADAM HUSSAIAINS' BOYS. BUSH AND COMPANY
ARE REPAYING FOR THE VIOLATION.

Good luck with that, but try and anticipate his evasive manouvers, his daddy taught him how to do that.

Give the c.h.imp some credit. He would have nailed him the the head except Bush did a nice job of ducking.

Maybe, a shoe company could donate an amount ($1 per pair sold?) to an organization devoted to social strengthening.

Contrast the shoes with the Madoff stories/reactions. Of course we're angry at Madoff's alleged crimes. Yet a $50,000,000,000 scam is boring compared to the $700,000,000,000 over here, and $13,400,000,000 there, and $850,000,000,000 soon, and $600,000,000,000 (very conservative estimate) for war. That's a lot of money.

Even when dealing with astronomical sums, the shoes demonstrate that we all are essential to our world. Al-Zaidi spoke, we can continue to applaud him - or denigrate him - or we can also organize to express our opposition to the war.
