Barack and his gals (wife Michelle and daughters Malia and Natasha) were spotted doing some pre-Christmas sunning on the security-riddled lovely coast of Kailua, Hawaii. And NO, we don't know where you can purchase Michelle's sensible one-piece.

Monday's pool report (below) confirmed that the President-elect went to the gym despite being on vacation. No surprise here... the consistent workouts appear to be paying off:

President-elect Barack Obama's motorcade left his Kailua vacation home at 7:08 a.m. He and Michelle Obama arrived at Semper Fit Center on Marine Corps Base Hawaii Kaneohe Bay at 7:19 a.m. to workout...

...Barack Obama left the gym at 8:08 a.m. He waved to about 20 onlookers who had gathered in the parking lot (some couldn't move their cars if they wanted to because of the motorcade). A few of them had cell phones and cameras out, ready to take pictures.

Obama went around his SUV and decided to greet the small group that had gathered. He shook hands and chatted briefly before saying, "Happy Holidays guys. I appreciate your service."

The motorcade headed back to Obama's vacation home at 8:11 a.m.

Michelle Obama did not leave with the president-elect. Pool is told she is staying behind for a longer workout.

Some in the media are wondering how that paparazzo got those shots, considering that the Secret Service has banned photographers and reporters from coming close to the oceanfront estate where Obama is staying.

The Washington Post spoke to Bauer-Griffin co-owner Frank Griffin, who wouldn't name the photographer beyond saying he's a contractor who lives in Hawaii and claimed that the paparazzo had tacit approval to shoot Obama since it's a public beach:

"The guy just walked along there. He had a camera in his hand. He wasn't hiding behind the bushes. He took some pictures. Everybody saw him. And then he walked off," Griffin said. "It was as simple as that"...

"He wasn't hiding behind the trees, he wasn't on a boat and he wasn't doing anything that we are used to doing," Griffin said.

Hopefully, he'll be as interested in the well-being of our country as he is in his own "fitness". We don't need a playboy-looking type of person, we need a wise, deep-thinking, God-fearing person.

We also need a leader who is developing his cardiovascular system. this thing is, exercise not only makes you live longer, but it is a great way to stay focused, disciplined and increases your ability to handle stress. Being wise and deep thinking is not mutually exclusive to being physically fit. I won't even comment on God-Fearing.

Please Michelle take the President-elect shopping!!! He's been photographed in 2006, 2007 and now 2008 wearing the same swimwear. He's now the President of the United States if America and must look "outstanding" at all times!

Apparently, you don't follow Barack Obama much. If you did, you'd know that he is very frugal when it comes to what he wears. He probably has five pairs of the same colored swimming trunks just like the same-color suits he has.
I did, however, noticed that one pair of swimming trunks he was photographed wearing in 2006 had a different colored tie string. Needlessly to say, I don't think you need or any of us need to worry about whether or not he has one or more pairs of swimming trunks. Michelle is the only other person that needs to care about it. I'm sure she like him when he's wearing swimming trunks or nothing at all!

Hmmm, one pair of shoes with holes,on tuxedo, ine pair of pants he's ha for 10 years and one belt.

Michelle please take this man shopping he's now the president of the United States of America and we the people want him to have the very best - we realize its an economic downturn however as the official representative of our nation the "frugality" must be nipped in the bud - we ain't having it! :-)

"We"? Speak for yourself only, please. Perhaps you are unaware of our international reputation for self-indulgence at any cost. He's just walking the walk, that's all. Good to have at least one politician thinking about the consequences of wastefulness; maybe 50 new sets of trunks can translate to human lives? So get outta the shallow waters.
I'd go so far as to say that the man could give up buying any more clothes altogether and just sorta hang out in those trunks for the duration of his term. Wouldn't bother me a DAMN bit.

Will this help those of you who still think the Obamas are aliens?

They look like human beings.

I'm sure their doctors will report if they discover any Spock-like anatomic or internal discrepancies we cannot otherwise detect.

Now, for my big question:

Maybe I'm naive (probably) about internet marketing and audience retention. But aren't People Magazine, and Us, already available online? Do we have to have this stuff on HuffPost too? I guess so, huh? OK. I just hope we're paying more attention to Obama's words and deeds.

And to Michelle Obama's words and deeds as well. Ebony Magazine online titles a piece on our next First Lady, "Can Michelle be America's Hostess?" Are we back to whether Hilllary can bake cookies? Please! Michelle Obama has degrees from Princeton and Harvard, and held important executive positions. If Hillary Clinton gained foreign policy experience in the White House, and it will serve her as SOS, do you really believe Michelle Obama will have less influence? Even if Mrs. Obama stays at home to raise her daughters, she will have much influence. Leaders and representatives, of other countries as well as of the US, will seek her out. Her words will be taken to represent the thoughts of Mr. Obama, as I'm sure she's more than aware. Do not underestimate her diplomatic significance.
