I NEVER LIKED THAT S.E.X.Y. CHRISTMAS SONG FROM EARTHA KIT, WHENEVER IT COMES ON I CHANGE THE CHANNEL.

Then you have to appreciate the irony that she dies on Christmas. I know I am a bad person, but I can't be the only one that thinks that's kind of funny.

None of these songs are worse than Paul McCartney's "Wonderful Christmastime". What a candy-coated hunk of yule tide garbage that is.

I agree... that song makes me want to yak all over the carpet.

If you like loud roaring guitars, English punk rock the Yobs band had a great version of the drummer boy on their 1st X-mas album. Some foul language, though.
As for the tunes that drive you out of the store the second you enter it, it's Jingle bells rock that terrorizes me most.

Sorr, this was supposed to be a reply to Hopalong...

Happy holidays anyway.

The problem is that there were only about 10 Christmas songs ever written. After the 10,000th or so rendition of Silent Night it gets a bit old.

Oh! That was great....really great just lift my spirits.

Please, let's get rid of Silent Night. What a God-awful song! It sounds like a funeral dirge. I cringe every time I hear it played - and it is often.

This song sucks!

Deck the HALL not HALLS. Its HALL.... for the love of Christmas, can someone sing it right? HALL, not HALLS

Wikipedia says that Deck the Halls is the popular version while Deck the Hall is the alternate version. Maybe you should correct the listing for them....

Some nice writing there.
I may have to write and sing a few verses of "Joy to the World, George Bush is done" myself today..

And.. I also find almost no arranger is equal to "Little Drummer Boy" - it's like a hangover.

On a less satirical note, I would like to nominate my least popular Christmas song, "The Little Drummer Boy." because of its deadly dull repetitive rhythm and mind bending lack of tonal range. It is truly a hypnotic bore and when I hear it, my ears bleed.

It all depends on the talent of the arranger.

Kiba, I gave your link a listen and I still don't like it. It still seems repetitive in the extreme. I'll bet Jimi Hendrix could have done something with it. In any case, Merry Christmas to you.

I have a friend who has a Christmas caroling party every year. When we sing 'Little Drummer Boy', my tradition is to stand in back and using my low voice sing nothing bu the "rumpa ba bum, rumpa ba bum". Over the years I have gotten several other of the men with deep voices to join me in that. My second favorite Christmas song! My most favorite is 'Merry F---ing Christmas' from South Park.

Listen to the David Bowie, Bing Crosby version. That's the best Little Drummer Boy.

I second that. Bowie rules (Crosby was cool too).

Okay, I thought the least favorite was "Little Drummer Boy" but yesterday my daughter played "I want a hippopotamus" for Christmas for me and that thing is so sticky I can't get it out of my brain. It's even more mind-numbing than "Little Drummer Boy"...

The entire world is singing #1 in perfect harmony.
