Although President-elect Obama's pledge to change federal policy on stem cell research is not likely to lead to new cures by the end of his first year -- or even first term -- the scientific community is eager to get moving.

Embryonic stem cell research is one area in which the change that Obama has promised on the campaign trail will provoke an immediate effect.

Dont you people realize that stem cell research isnt against the law? Its just not federaly funded.. Anyone can fund it if they want too.. Why make the taxpayer?

In the end, the taxpayer pays for most of the medical research in this country through the NIH.
People are getting rich off of public funds.

This is why we need the Jonas Salk figure again.

The taxpayers keep getting sick, see y'all.

People can go build an aircraft carrier if they want, but maybe the Navy's the right organization to do that sort of thing.
