There were no lumps of coal in Brad Pitt or Jennifer Aniston's stockings this Christmas.

The former couple both had movies in competition for the top spot on Christmas Day, and while Aniston's film pulled in the most money, both movies were winners at the box office.

Aniston's Marley & Me, a feel-good movie costarring Owen Wilson about a young family and mischievous dog, was the leader of the pack, grossing $14.8 million, the highest one-day total ever for a film opening on Christmas.

I am so happy that Jennifer Aniston won. I went to see M&M with friends and family and although the movie was good but not great. Still, I highly recomended. I read the book and of course the book is soooo much better. I will never understand why they always seem to change so much in the movie. The book is about a rumbunctious lab named Marley and the increadible bond he had with his owner John Crouger. The book does not focus in the relationship between he and his wife as much as they did in the move. It was dissapointing that they did not focus more on the mischievous Marley. Unfortunately, I will always have a bad memory of the day cause I went to see it at the Universal City Walk and my wallet got stolen. I was bommed out after I realized that. Darn it!

It must be very annoying to have a past relationship constantly dredged up years after it was finished. I can't even remember who I was going out with four years ago, it is ancient history, the people involved couldn't possibly care, why are those who never met them obsessed with it?

My only guess is that when people sell intimate details of their private lives, telling the world things usually reserved only for close friends, it creates a false sense of intimacy between themselves and their fan's.
If people are lonely and disconnected from their personal relationships and social life, they can emotionally attach themselves onto the images of strangers they identify with and express their own emotional/social needs through the fantasy.

It is one thing to have an opinion on how somebody portrays themselves, whether to laugh at /admire /be annoyed by the behaviours of certain people, to question whether they are doing something for publicity or trying to use they publicity they get to highlight something else.

It disturbs me that people can be so invested in people they do not know and talk about strangers as if they were best friends/ worst enemy. Some people seem not to be able to distinguish between reality and fantasy.

I don't know why any famous person would want to expose their children to all the crazy stalkers of the world by selling them out, I wonder if they are as crazy as those they appeal to?

I have posted earlier about this too earlier. The people who are on these threads constantly posting at everyone, anyone who would say something against their idols and personally attacking each other reveal a lot about themselves that the idol they choose to worship. I have not really seen JA, AJ, or BP being as nasty to each other as their fans have been. But then again I don't follow these three with the kind of encyclopedic knowledge that some on this thread has. I think a shrink can have a field day with those who hang out on these threads vowing to take anyone down who says anything remotely critical of their idol and then high fiving each other.

blackjac succinctly sums up jolies box office choices. aside from mrs and mrs smith, pitt has no bearing on jolie's target audience or box office, children and teens into cartoons and video game action and plots.

if you look at pitt's box office, this being about numbers, the field chicky wants to play on, pitt's movies have become less successful since he left aniston. chicky links pitt's and jolie's box office numbers and a fair analysis makes it clear jolie is a drag on his numbers. just look at the numbers on his films and their release dates.

All you've done is prove that people see movies for plot and not for casting. The OCEAN'S trilogy was an ensemble deal, KUNG FU PANDA was for an audience who wouldn't know Angie from a hole in the ground, TOMB RAIDER had a built-in fanbase that would've seen it no matter what, and GONE IN 60 SECONDS was another fanboy project.

some comments here are getting so childish that I can hardly believe that they are posted by adults. first, this is not a thread about JA and AJ. It is a thread about the two movies starring members of an once married couple. Both movies did well and congratulations to both teams that were behind the movies. The movies are in completely different genres so comparing them would be unfair because there aren't a lot of similar elements to cross over. Besides, liking a movie, is entirely a personal choice and if someone liked one movie over another, so be it. Does not automatically mean that because my entire neighborhood, or three generation of family members, or my best friends and I liked this movie, is a "better" movie. What it means is that you and the people you associate with have the same entertainment preferences that the movie makers wanted to target.

Finally, if JA wants to move on, and BP and AJ want to move on from this what happened four years ago and who did what to whom, then why do we as a public keep this feud alive and try to work out our own moral issues of judgment and scorn through the lives of these people? Our desire to see well-paid beautiful people's dramas is a pitiful stalkerish obsession. If they are trying not to drag each other to the mudpit, then their fans should try to do the same.

Just got back from seeing Benjamin Button. It was absolutely brilliant, incredibly involving, and thought provoking. I thought Brad Pitt was phenomenal . And Cate Blanchett was as mesmerizing as ever. This is a film for the ages.

And I'm also unabashedly a member of team Jolie. Jennifer Aniston can only play Rachel or some equally dull variation.

I saw BB and I have to say it was just beautiful. Visually I have seen nothing like it. I cried, laughed and believe. It made me believe in all the possibilities of life. Benjamin is a man that is experiences life in a different place then the people around him. He is such a quiet and sweet soul. I hope everyone gets a chance to experience this film.. and yes it is an experience. Brad, Cate, Taraji and Tilda all did an excellent. Brad was just great. He was just Beautiful.. no other word will do. I now understand the Oscar buzz around this film. It is a keeper..As far as all the stupid stuff about who won the BO.. Such childish nonsense... The two films are not in the same genre. Comedy v Drama... How do you compare. The movies to compare BB with would be it competition ..Doubt, Milk, Frost/Nixon... And BB is doing better at the BO then these films. But again BO totals do not determine the quality of a film. BB and the films I mentioned are quality. I'm glad that Brad has earned some praise for his performance. He does not get the credit due him.
