Obama Ditches Press Pool To Take Daughters To Aquatic Park

Dec. 26, 2008 Waimanalo, Hawaii Pool Report No. 5

President-elect Barack Obama arrived at Sea Life Park, a marine amusement
park in Waimanalo, about 12:10 p.m. He is apparently inside the park with
daughters Malia and Sasha. He left their Kailua vacation home without the
protective press pool.

Your pool arrived at the park about 1:10 p.m. and are holding outside the
park to await instructions on whether we will have access to the Obamas.

Obama spokesman Ben LaBolt issued the following statement to your pool:
"With no further scheduled events for the day, a lid was called until
further notice. The President-elect decided to take the girls to a water
park and we assembled the pool as quickly as possible."

The park is nestled along the shoreline in the sparsely populated and
scenic Waimanalo area, with soaring volcanic mountains nearby.

For the first time on his Hawaii vacation, it appears Obama gave the press pool that follows him the slip. From the Obama press pool report:

President-elect Barack Obama left his vacation home with daughters Malia
and Sasha about 11:45 a.m. His motorcade left without the pool, the first
time he has done so on this Hawaiian vacation. Your pool, which had a lid,
was not informed in time and is now en route to the Kailua home to be swept
by Secret Service. Pool will attempt to meet up with the Obamas shortly.

The Obamas are apparently at Sea Life Park, a marine amusement park near
Waimanalo and Bellows Air Force Station.

Updates to come once the pool is taken to the park.

The series of stories emanating from Hawaii are sheer fun in the way they show how the MSM just make things up out of thin air. They refer to the Kaneohe Marine base as part of the town of Kailua. Kaneohe is a town in itself, a few miles west of Kailua. Then fashionable smug thing at NBC (starting with Tom Brokaw) is to pronounce Hawaii as "Hawai." #%%holes. This article refers to "Sea Life Park" as an "amusement park. It actually is a marine research facility, and has some lectures and animal shows for the public, but is hardly an "amusement park," ala Disney World or Six Flags.

I read another report today (AP) that said "Obama, wife Michelle, and daughters Malia and Sasha are staying in a $9 million, five-bedroom oceanfront house near downtown Honolulu." Kailua, where Obama is staying, is on the other side of the island from Honolulu, separated by a small mountain (Pali) range. Liars.

It takes a minimum of care for the truth to get these facts straight, but our corporate media couldn't care less. It didn't matter a bit that someone as low as Bush lied us into war, looked the other way when warned about imminent attack, corrupted our system of justice, kidnapped, tortured, killed, and stole two elections. They partied with him, laughing at his stupid slide show about searching for WMD. They have no souls, and will be remembered as symbolic of this age of mediocrity.

I am not anti-Obama but.....why in the hell would someone want to go to an amusement park when they are in Hawaii? Amusement Parks are for places like Sanduskey, Ohio and Vallejo, California, where there is nothing else to do....

You might try "Googling" before commenting. Sea Life Park doesn't sound like an "amusement park" to me: http://www.sealifeparkhawaii.com/.

This is supposed to be a government "of the people, by the people, and for the people," but it seems that we've decided that we have the right--and obligation--to comment on everything anyone in public office does. I don't think we'll be able to change that now, and it's too bad. What we'll end up with is a situation in which no one wants to run for office--unless they just truly don't give a damn about what people think of them. In that case,we'd better be prepared for more Blagojevich-types in government.

If we'd get off their backs and save our commentary for the actions they take that actually affect us, we'd all be better off in the long run.

Notice how the press pool and how they are treated is the subject of the story? A brief story about Obama taking his daughters to a water park is fine but this obsession with self importance is one reason newspapers are dieing out.
