Why does Britain still have royalty in the 21st century? Why is the monarch also the leader of the church? Why is this feral young man handed the future leadership of Britain simply because of his bloodline?

Perhaps some of you might understand why some Irish in Northern Ireland don't want to belong in the United Kingdom. They are 'subjects' of the Crown, not citizens.

It's a medieval and undemocratic religious institution.

Its tradition. And in spite of what you might think they work hard at their jobs which is knitting the fabric of British Society together.

Anyway, it doesn't hurt Britain, and probably is more of a benefit than a cost, so what does it matter.

Although technically the queen is the head of state for Great Britain and the commonwealth nations (including Jamaica where i live) she has no real power.

The monarch is purely ceremonial. They act as a symbol of unity for Britain and the entire commonwealth.

Well, she was Anointed by God to Rule over her Subjects, and she owns all the swans too. Just like Christ, but more real. In the sense of being real, I mean. Not in the sense of being really Anointed By God - she was Anointed by the Archbishop of Canterbury really, but he said he was doing it in place of God that day, because God was off doing something else. Very busy life, that God. And very shy. Which is why he needs the Queen to rule over her subjects.
