Russia Today has a video on the situation in Gaza, where Israel has launched an air strike attack. It reports that the strikes happened while children were leaving school, and many parents are still trying to locate their children. Watch it here:

It's important to check the HuffPo to get the terrorist perspective on this.

This place rocks!

They could be at peace right now with Israel if they wanted to be. I can't say I feel sorry for them.

Meanwhile, back at the ranch..we have three Holocaust movies opening this Christmas season (1) Defiance (2) The Reader (3) The Valkyries.
Who needs to know or care or read the news. Not US!!!

Some background ^^^

The tunnel incident is being used as the reason for air strikes. Posts I have been reading elsewhere are indicating the tunnel was being dug to move supplies past the blockade.

There is a massive propaganda campaign underway to justify the slaughter.

Isreali hospitals aren't any fun either...
04:08 PM on 12/27/2008
There would be more money for hospitals in Gaza, had most of it not been diverted to terror activities. You reap what you sow.
03:20 PM on 12/27/2008
Thank you to YouTube & Huffington for this access (via Moscow!) to what is actually happening in Gaza! What a way around the usual pro-Israel filters in the American media! The question one wonders about most is how much longer these nasty & pernicious filters will deprive us of real news from the region?
03:19 PM on 12/27/2008
Hamas should have spent more money on hospitals and less on rockets.
01:11 PM on 12/27/2008
if you use terrorist tactics against terrorists, are you not a terrorist?
05:02 PM on 12/27/2008
This statement would assume that our troops in Iraq are terrorists....are you willing to go that far? A few facts can separate any argument. At least to those that weigh the facts against assumption.
01:12 AM on 12/28/2008
According to Palestinian sources, all but 15 of the 230 killed are Hamas operatives. If this is terrorism, how do you define any war in history (including the current ones in Iraq and Afghanistan)?
01:08 PM on 12/27/2008
Does it matter who fired at whom? When there are dead and wounded Israelis and Palestinians? I'm tired of this madness.

If the Palestinians had only followed the examples of Dr. King, Gandhi, and Jesus of Nazareth rather than choosing violence at every opportunity, they'd have had their own state 30 years ago...!

Wasn't that the first intifada? Didn't they get their bones broken with that one?

That's got to be one of the best jokes I've heard since that joke about Bush giving us tax cuts.

this time, my support for Israel has completely ended. If Syria and Iran respond, so be it. You can't keep a group of people subjugated this long without expecting repercussions. It seems to me that Israel has deliberately created this latest conflict in order to appease the orthodox extremist within its ranks, and is doing so knowing that the moderate Arabs will, as usual, do nothing about saving their own people.

Hypocrisy in Action:
Where were Egypt, Russia, OIC, EU, Britain, Sarkozy, US & Austria when Hamas was pounding Israel with daily barrage of rockets?

Hamas's actions are indefensible. So too are the identical actions of Israel in suppressing the Palestinians with fear and intimidation. As we say in the US, what comes around goes around.
01:44 PM on 12/27/2008
Where was the entire world when there was a blockade of Gaza? Neither side is innocent. The cycle of violence continues as we all watch. Israel can't deny the basic necessities of a people that depends on them for their existence. Palestinians are born, live and die in refugee camps. No hope for a future. They strike back using themselves as bombs killing innocent Israelis. Israel tries to control the violence with a blockade. A humanitarian crisis ensues. Palestine launches rockets and kills a few more Israelis (in this case 200 rockets launched killed 1 and injured 4). Israel retailiates by killing hundreds of innocent Palestinians. Palestinians strike back by using themselves as bombs. Get the picture?

All the while the Christian Zionists (Evangelicals) cheer Israel on as they hope for the "Rapture" believing that Israel could do no wrong and anyone who suggests as much is an Anti-semite.

Peace in the Middle East? Not unless the US is more engaged in the process than we have been over the last eight years. Heck of a job, Georgie.
