I Like ItI Don’t Like It

Dick Cheney tells a Wyoming paper, via Think Progress, that he can't understand why people don't like him:

How do you explain your low approval rating?

"I don't have any idea. I don't follow the polls.

"My experience has been over the years that if you govern based upon poll numbers, upon trying to improve your overall poll ratings, people I've encountered who do that are people who won't make tough decisions. And the job the president has and those who advise him is to make those basic fundamental decisions for the nation that nobody else is authorized or able to make.

"First and foremost among those is to defend the nation. If you're going to follow the polls, you are going to change your policy every week when the poll comes out. Secondly, I think you're adversely affected by the fact that you can get just about any result you want out of a poll.

"My own experience has been, in the administrations I've served in, for example Gerald Ford, a man who made a very, very tough decision when he decided to pardon Nixon, something that was extremely unpopular, universally condemned, but 30 years later he was praised as having done the right thing. So I think you need to have that kind of approach to it rather than watch the polls on any given day."

Read the whole thing.

What Cheney says is true, but the question remains does he know why people in fact hate him.
He neglects the obvious and that is when you make these decisions you have to stand behind them
not blame others when things go wrong, as all of his have.

I will always remember Lynn Cheney saying of Sen. Kerry "this is not a good man" surely she must have been speaking of her own sick husband.

Really Dick, you don't understand why your approval rating is so low and that that the majority Americans loathe the way you and Bush have governed? Maybe it's because most psychopaths don't think they've ever done anything wrong and their behavior is normal.

We could tell you, but it would take too long and with the mental condition you have, you wouldn't believe us anyway.

Cheney does not need to be popular. He still has Jeff Gannon's phone number, I'm sure.

How about because you're a self-deluded ignoramus? If you can't see why, you can't see much.

When someone runs for a position to represent the rights and people of their country, isn't public opinion kind of necessary?

"Gerald Ford, a man who made a very, very tough decision when he decided to pardon Nixon, something that was extremely unpopular, universally condemned, but 30 years later he was praised as having done the right thing."

Cheney doesn't pay attention to polls, but claims that Nixon's pardon went from unpopular to popular? Ah, Cheney. how ironic.

And since when did people start supporting that decision? If Cheney ever paid attention to current events he would know that Nixon's pardon is being used to discuss Bush & Co.'s possible criminal indictments.

And why is he talking? aren't there indictments he needs to appear for? like those involving his approval of torture? Listening to him IS torture.

Can Americans file a class action suit against Cheney; specifically that his presence in the Bush administration led to us being hated by every other country? he's being in office was torture.

But wait, there's more:
When a watchdog group wanted to see records of who visited the vice president's residence, Cheney, through a lawyer, had the logs destroyed.

Not to worry Dick, you'll have plenty of time to ponder why you're so unpopular while you're rotting in He||.

Dear Sir,
You have complete disregard for democratic norms of governance. Under democracy, you got to listen to your detractors more than your bed pals. You have never won an election of your own. You treat your opponents as traitors.
You are the Traitor. Go back to your day job, Sir, in Dubai with Halliburton.
Thanks for leaving after 8 years and not distorting the Constitution to reward yourself with unlimited tenure.

Pray, for yourself and your buddies, that you do not have to face Court of Justice for War crimes.

You are the biggest liar and you have no remorse whatsoever for your actions.
Save us from any more TV interviews, we are not interested in listening to your lies and coverups.

Thanks
