I Like ItI Don’t Like It
Huck

On his blog, Mike Huckabee defends former campaign manager Chip Saltsman -- but criticizes personal attacks on President-elect Barack Obama:

Chip should have been more careful in his selection of Christmas gifts, but no one who knows him would ever suggest that he in any way would purposely disparage other people. Chip knows how sensitive such issues are. It shouldn't be the main factor in the RNC race.

The election of Barack Obama is not only historic for our country but it is something all Americans, not just Democrats, should celebrate. As I have said many times the election of Mr. Obama is significant not because of his race or in spite of it, but with indifference to it. He was not my choice for President, but he will be MY President over the next four years and I will support him personally and pray for his success. I will certainly disagree with him at times, but I pledge that my disagreements with him will be over his policy decisions and not aimed at him personally. I ask that all of you will join with me in doing that.

The Republican Party, meanwhile, seems to be headed for a soul-searching in early January, when the National Committee meets for a historic series of discussions and debates.

How is the Republican Party going to do any soul - searching in January? There are not enough left with souls to search anything. Huck, being a shill for Saltsman, shows that he has little principle. What is wrong with these people? Can't they learn anything? Isn't Huckabee an ordained minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. What kind of theology does he ascribe to?

Now Huckabee joins Chip as dumber than dirt !

They obviously don't get the mood of the voters.

Mike Huckabee like Rick Warren... so pleasant, seemingly reasonable and warm.

But what was it Shakespeare said? "The spirit that I have seen May be a devil, and the devil hath power to assume a pleasing shape."

Huckabee's support for and defense of Saltsman is more proof that Huckabee should never hold elective office ever again.

And I pray that Huck and friends keep doing really stupid things. The Dems will be in power forever at this rate.

Better to be silent and thought a fool than to speak and remove all doubt is apparently lost on the Republican party.

"As I have said many times the election of Mr. Obama is significant not because of his race or in spite of it, but with indifference to it." Yes it is significant because of his race and I believe that it will be significant because of what he accomplishes while he is in office also. The same would be true had Hillary Clinton won. Her win would have been significant because she is a woman and because of what she would have done had she been in office.

If it has nothing to do with his race than how is it any more significant than any other of past presidential elections? I'm intrigued by people who speak out of both sides of their mouths like Mike does. But being a man of God or not, Mike doesn't want to offend the Republican party since he'll likely take another run at the presidency himself. However, Mike would not be significant in any event.

Typical GOPer. They can never admit when they are or someone close to them is wrong even when it is clear as day that they are wrong. This is one of their biggest problems and this is what is hurting their party with the American voters. How anyone can defend this racist attack on the President-Elect is beyond me. Huckabee needs to be careful if he plans to run for President again. I bet if Valerie Jarrett was circulating a song with racist jabs at McCain the GOP would be outraged and we wouldn't hear the end of it.

Huckabee is the biggest bigot of them all. That soft spoken avuncular veneer is so thin it's become transparent. Huckabee thinks he can airbrush hate with a few soft spoken lies. Why is he making excuses for a full grown man? Chip Saltsman made his own mistakes and choices based on his political agenda. Racism and bigotry should always be regarded as means of measuring how off balance a political party is. And religion too, Mike!!!

. Huckabee turned this coming to Saltsman's aid thing into a blurb about himself. Would someone take away Huckabee's access to the media? The crap meter says he's overloading the system again.
