Lynn Sweet Gives Obama 'F' For Transition Transparency

The Obama team, pledging the ''most open and transparent transition in history,'' gets and ''A'' for disclosing donors to the Jan. 20 inauguration and a ''F'' when it comes to revealing transition meetings with groups. Contrary to its own ''seat at the table transparency policy,'' meetings are not posted on a Web site.

I'm giving a ''B'' to the Obama transition report on staff contacts with Gov. Blagojevich. The report was a summary narrative released last week of an internal inquiry into Gov. Blagojevich's selling-of-a-Senate seat scandal. While the Obama team deserves credit for disclosure -- including that President-elect Barack Obama and incoming White House staffers Valerie Jarrett and Rahm Emanuel met with federal prosecutors -- offering some notes or transcripts to support the conclusions would have been helpful.

Sorry I hope Lynn is reading the comments. O has been more forthcoming about his transition, and Lynn WHERE was the MEDIA when W became pres. why didn't you get a backbone 8 years ago.
This is what's wrong for the most part of the MSM/blogosfere, trying to write supposedly 'investigative' pieces of supposedly significant stories (sometimes NOT) in hopes that it gets the author FAMOUS and a book and movie deal and face time on TV or whatever, it's like the deliverer of the story is MORE IMPORTANT than what's being reported. Listen LYNN, Walter Cronkite would be totally APALLED at what the news has morphed into.

Am I just imagining things or are my feelings spot on in sensing that the media is tougher, more pugnacious, less deferential and less respectful of Democratic presidents? They seem to feel more entitled to more of everything whereas they they do not challenge repugs as much and give them a passes and lie down meekly at their feet so that they can be walked upon.
