Chip Saltsman stirred controversy when, in his campaign to be the next RNC chairman, he distributed copies of a song called "Barack the Magic Negro." The song originally aired on Rush Limbaugh's talk radio show. MSNBC's Tamron Hall weighed in on the controversy, saying she wouldn't find it funny if someone called her "Tamron Hall the Magic Negro Anchor Lady."

Oh, that Southern Strategy...

I really hope the Republicans keep on thinking it's a strategy that will continue to work.

WOW, Tamron is finding her voice again. That's something that I thought she lost when she left Chicago for MSNBC. Welcome back Tamron!

A good point... Why are there any African-Americans/Blacks/Negroes still members of the RNC? It's like the gay members...don't they get that they are not welcome?

I call it "head-in-sand syndrome." We're here because we've always been here. And we're afraid to look around at any alternatives, even if our current situation is directly hurting us. It's just sad, very sad.

The Republican Party is out-of-touch with reality and Rush Limbaugh is leading their charge of racial division. If Palin were still on the stump, she would be fanning the flames as well.

Wow, this lady really wants us to like Rush Limbaugh. So what? There is room for a comedian or even a shock-jock radio host (which is what Limbaugh is) to play around with some crude parody but for a politician, a political party leader - come on, the issue has nothing to do with Limbaugh's bad comedy. This is highly offensive to a president. Presidents always get mocked in this country but I am seeing already and predicting the worse wave of complete disrespect we've ever seen dished out to a sitting president. Already some peoples willingness to express some of the most disprectful and egregious sentiments towards a president ever in our history is just a reflection how difficult it has been for a black man to garner the same respect as his white counterpart. It's back to the old joke "What do you call a black man with a doctor's degree...?" If you don't know that one then good for you.

It was a stupid and reprehensible thing they did but inserting yourself into the story doesn't serve anyone's interests but yours. Stick to reporting the news not trying to be the news.

Kate, Chip, Rush, Hannity,Joe Scarbough,Sarah Palin, McCain etc., should keep saying and doing what they do because it proves that racisim is 'alive and well' in America.

That is why it is an insult to tell African Americans that racism isn't as bad as it once was or to get over it, its in the past.

The disrespect, poor treatment and biased laws that govern the penal system and America where/are instituted by racists like them, so its no wonder that people of color have to struggle disporportionately more than whites. What have 'negros' ever done to whites?

They were not the slave masters. It is tragic these people control the U.S.

The party known for racial insensitivity gets to explain to me why I shouldn't be offended by it's latest race gaffe.

All I can hear right now is the stampede of all 10 "Negroes" leaving the Republican party.

Who the heck says "Negroes" anymore? First we were Coloured, Negroes, Black, now African-American? What's next? Tinted-Americans?

Some, not all, Republicans have lost there mind.

I wish I could see the "stampeded of all 10 Negros leaving the Republican party," but have you noticed that some of the "10 Negros" in the Republican party are upholding the song? My, My!
Micheal Steele seems to think that by ignoring the racism in the repubican party he will somehow
sprint to the top of the party and become the republican Barack Obama.

Not to mention, Mr. Voter Suppression himself, Mr. Ken Blackwell, saying that people were being "hypersensitive". IDIOTS.

Republicans can't understand why more Black people are not clamoring to join their party, well they make it perfectly clear everyday when one of them says something totally STUPID! They are the MOST INSENSITIVE people on the planet and have the audacity to wonder why they lost the election. There are names that make your skin crawl when mentioned: Bush, Cheney, Rove, Rumsfeld, Palin and the list goes on! They had over 175 black delegates at the 2004 convention and only 75 this time, wonder why???? They finally woke up! Next Presidential election they will have 0 black delegates. Republicans are not the party of inclusion! They keep saying they have to get more minorities involved but they don't really mean it, it's just something they say and it's total HOGWASH!!!

How is it that there are people in high office that live like this. Shameful. Having been raised a white christian being forced to sing Onward Christian Soldiers as a child in church, I was lucky enough to see the ambiguity before I was five years old. Parents shoved that shit down my throat but I always questioned it.

Where does this hate come from? Baracks election gives me hope. There might come a day when this unwarranted hate is no more.

There will be plenty of other more important crisis to involve our minds. Health.

Good luck to all.

No, I wouldn't find it funny, either. Racists are just trash. Their disingenuous expectations of being considered humorous and "clever" are presumptuous and unrealistic. Legitimate satire has value. Racism and racists have none.

The smirking brunette who appeared on MSNBC earlier the same day was an unfortunate error in judgment that I hope all affiliates do not repeat. She claimed not to be defending the "song" only defending Rush Limbaugh. Who failed to notice that red flag, fer chrissakes?

The funny thing is Al Sharpton never said Obama "wasn't black enough". This is about a black Republican trying to get popular by letting white Republicans use him as a shield for rac.ist expression.

And wasn't Rush LImbaugh who was saying that Obama wasn't Black enough by saying that he was really Arab? They can't keep up with their smears.
