"Spain's Pro-Gay Policies Anger Hundreds of Thousands of Catholics" ?????

On what is this headline based? The fact that hundreds of thousands of Catholics attended an open-air mass led by the Pope?

Is this headline Huffpo's opinion, or a writer's?

Maybe you need a disclaimer.

Religious nuts have always tried to legislate sex ... they like to tell other people what is and is not normal ... they do this with the authority of their God ... it's sick and more twisted than anything they are trying to condemn. But these self centered "religious" freaks are the ones with the filthy minds because they see the natural world and it's complexity and they try to smother it with their black cloaks of shame and humiliation. In the past they hung homosexuals ... murdered them because they decided it was wrong .. the only thing wrong is them and history shows who they are.

Regardless of whatever Huffers say, Spain can make up their own minds n the next election. It will be interesting to see if they go more conservative as the other large European Countries have.

I agree. Family Values should be protected. Let's start by making divorce illegal so those 50% of broken families aren't destroyed. Let's get rid of birth control. No sex except to procreate. Women shouldn't be working. Especially on Sunday. While we're at it, let's execute the 50% of women and 60% of men who cheat on their spouses. (I wonder who the extra 10% of men are cheating with?). "Family Values" is just a way to discriminate while being politically correct. http://mespace.wordpress.com/

The irony of those who have sworn celibacy and maintain a "relationship" with a holy spirirt, lecturing us about the meaning of family values is rich in itself.

However, don't worry, they are a minority in Spanish society and they are acting out of fear that more and more people here are turning their back on their dogma.

If the catholic church keeps this up, they may just ending loosing their tax exemptions and financial benefits... let them.

The Catholic Church talking about family values is like going to the child molester wing at your nearest prison to be ridiculed for being gay. They still have not been held accountable for systematically transferring child molesters to avoid prosecution.

It's unfortunate that the Pope focuses on this when there is so much more threatenning the stability of the family- like economic meltdown, unemployment and war.

As a Catholic I must say that his view is not shared by many Catholics even those that are part of the clergy. IT really is understood to be marginalized thinking and though the "offficial' view not the accepted one.I do agree that aiming to reduce abortion rates is important but taking away choice is preposterous. All for the speedy divorce.

Coming from the organization who allowed priests to molest young boys, and move them from church to church to keep it on the down low..... life is full of irony isn't it?

Your Headline, which does not match the story linked is inaccurate, inflammatory and wrong. To call proposed laws that would allow gays human rights "pro-gay" is the religious right wing-nut perspective. The facts are different. Such laws would only help gays reach full equality. That is a pro-humanity viewpoint, whether or not anybody's particular conception of a sky fairy in any of their books of dogmatic fable agree.

Shame on you, Huffpo.

It should have read "Hundreds of thousands of gays and their supporters offended by the church and its supporters".

Family values do not include standing on the necks of fellow citizens.

These religious types no nothing about God. They know about dogma, power and trying to control others. If Jesus were alive he'd tell them to stop.
