I Like ItI Don’t Like It

Ever since the first bombs fell on Gaza this week, Tomer Perry's Facebook page has been "on fire."

Perry, a 26-year-old Israeli student from Jerusalem, counts dozens of Palestinians among his 700 Facebook friends, and the war has touched off an emotional frenzy that's splintering his online social network.

One Palestinian friend posts a running tally of those killed in Gaza. Another friend in range of Hamas' rockets updates her page whenever she hears sirens warning of an incoming attack. And contacts on both sides have posted angry slurs and obscenities, ranging from "Turn Gaza into a parking lot" to "Fuck Nazi Israel. Hitler should have finished the job."

It is far healthier to "fight" with words over the Internet than with rockets and bombs.

"Jihad, Yes We Can."

So these are the Muslims we were trying to appease by saying (during the primary) that by "electing a President who is their color and whose name is Barak Hussein Obama, we'll show them that we have empathy for their plight".

What a bunch of fools. Keep on appropriating the Obama slogans to stir up racial hatred. It certainly worked in the USA.

I think the power of the internet can promote insight into the thinking of people with different experiences....and the communication can help promote Peace on our Planet...through understanding differences. Probably his Facebook is lively because his topics invite lively discussion, just like the stories on Huffington Post.

Is there an upcoming election in Israel or Palestine? Nothing like a war to stir up the voters.
(I'm glad his Facebook works. Mine just wants to know what I'm doing. I type "waiting for something to happen", but nothing ever does.)
