Blagojevich Disregards Obama's List Of Candidates For Senate Seat

Barack Obama believed that seven candidates were "highly qualified" to succeed him in the Senate, but the two people Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich (D) has asked to fill the vacant seat weren't on the president-elect's list.

Rep. Danny Davis (D-Ill.) said he recently discussed filling Obama's seat with Blagojevich's staff, but turned down the embattled governor's offer.

They should be Out Protesting Blago’s selfish maneuvers!! C’mon, Chicago get out there and speak out and Protest Blagojevich and his pick Burris! Blagojevich needs to put his Country and State First and Stop Playing Games!! Our Country has many other important issues to deal with - two wars, and plus the major conflict in the Middle East, and an Economic Crisis!! The Senate doesn't need to deal with this BS and drama!

Right you are Carol. Why is it that we're always expected - by others - to fall in line behind someone just because they're black? And then, when we do support someone who happens to be black (i.e. Obama), we're called racists!

People like Blago and the Republican Party will eventually learn that when it comes to political leadership, we're not persuaded by race alone. Character and issues are far more important than the color of a person's skin - even to the black community!

Is Burris the only AA in Illinois? No. What about JJ Jr? He is clearly better than the mediocre, looking for fame and a pension, Burris. But because of G-rod, he has been excluded from the process.

Why isn't Jesse Jackson, Jr. being considered for the senate seat? He hasn't done anything wrong. First and foremost, the media should admit they rushed to judgment about Jesse on the Blago case. Their next step would be to stop trying to compare him to his father and allow him to succeed on his own merits. What really amazes me, when the MSM thought J. J., Jr. was involved in this Blago's scandal, one couldn't go online without reading negative headlines concerning him. Now there isn't a single mention of this intelligent young man.

The Governor of Illinois has the sole legal authority to appoint a replacenment for Obama. He has not been found guilty in a court of law. Obama can make recommendations, but he is only the President -elect. We are a nation based on the rule of law. Obama, Reid, Durbin and the politicians in Illinois do not pre-empt the lawful authority of the Governor. The Democrats in Illionois are silly for the in fighting over the position. The Democrats in Washington are silly for fighting their own Democratic appointment to the Senate. The MSM has denigrated to a brood of "cackling hens". Instead of reporting the news with facts to the American public they line up on the cable net works and spew the same Republican inspired talking points about the appointment being "tainted". By the way the Governor of New York is legally authorized to make the appontment to replace Hillary Clinton. There is not a politician worth his/her salt that would turn down an opportunity to become a Senator. Politics is not a place for wimps. The Governor of Illinois is not a wimp.
