Sarah Palin: Bristol And Levi Are "Working Their Butts Off To Parent"

Alaska Governor Sarah Palin hasn't yet said anything publicly about her 4-day-old grandson, Tripp, but she does want people to know that Tripp's parents - her eldest daughter Bristol and her fiancé Levi Johnston - are hard at work and keeping up with school.

"You need to know that both Levi and Bristol are working their butts off to parent and going to school and working at the same time," Palin told PEOPLE in a phone message Wednesday. "They are certainly not high school dropouts."

Palin's still trying to prove something to the public about her high pressure job, her husband working and she not being home to tend to 5 kids. As for balance, we women can not have it all. Something suffers in that plateful of duties. I have yet to hear she had a nanny or family to help her & her husband out.

As for the kid parents, Levi has been given an apprentice position and Bristol has nothing to worry about. They recently received $300,000 for baby pics. What average person has that kind of money at 18?

I don't think so....about a week ago there was at least five different stories....church burned...Palin apologized if it was because of her...she's getting a raise...she doesn't want a raise (I knew that was coming)...and somewhere in there her father talks about his granddaughter's due date being the 20th when it was originally the 18th. And then there is a delivery date...no, that's wrong...there's another one...he weighed this much...no, it was that much...oh, heck, I really don't know if a baby has been born or not....just a lot of talk, no proof whatsoever. And now it's about dropouts working their butts off parenting? I don't think so. It's all about Palin having her name out there. She wanted that VP job, but also had a backup plan on a senate seat. Lost both, she is more determined than ever, she's a barracuda(sp). And her agenda is to change laws and policies.

It is time to step off Palin's merry go round. And watch her spin.

Turns out that baby pictures of little Tripp were not in much demand (since Sarah has dropped from the scene) until Levi's mom got busted for drug dealing. The scandal is now worth a reputed $300,000 for the same photos. so the kids get a nice nest egg thanks to mom. So crime does pay!!

I'm happy that the baby and mom are OK. Four days after I had each of my children, I was still recovering from 9 months of pregnancy and the birth itself. "Working my butt off" was getting up every 2 to 3 hours when the baby would need to be fed and changed and burped. I hope Bristol is able to complete her education and I hope that this teenage relationship can withstand all the challenges that are bound to happen.

I hope she can complete her education. Maybe she won't have to. Grandma's "celebrity" status and all that comes with it, (payment from tabloids for baby pics, book deals, etc) will be able to fund Tripp's college education. Congrats to the parents but I think the time is to look ahead to the issues that will have to be addressed when we have our new President take office

Every parent goes through this. I wouldn't exactly say caring for your baby as "working my butt off". Is it that much of a chore? Proud parents do not find it as a chore, but as part of a loving duty to tend to a loved one.

Why would you assume Tripp would be going to college. The way the Palin's rear the children, it seems as though Education isn't such an important thing. College doesn't seem to be on their wish list.

Really? In retrospect, I definitely would. Anytime you go without meaningful sleep to attend to the needs of someone else (especially for extended periods of time), that fits my definition of working your butt off. Just because you love that someone else and do it because you want to doesn't make it any less work.

My youngest of three is 18 mos old, and caring for him as an infant is still a fresh memory.

I would not describe caring for my new baby as "working my butt off". It's a pleasure and an honor caring for my child. Working my butt off I do in the garden, at the gym, housework, etc.

If my daughter, who is 23, had a child 4 days ago, I wouldn't be bragging about how she's "working her butt off". I'd be busting my ass helping HER out, not blabbing on the phone wasting time. (My daughter has a college degree and doesn't plan on a family for quite some time. I'm just saying..)

The way this family operates, I'm sure Gov. Sarah has already hired another "Official Aide", paid $3.50/hr. by the state (no benefits, wages billed at $27.00/hr., $23.50/hr. kickback to the Gov. @ 55 hrs./week), i.e. an undocumented immigrant, to do all of those chores, while her s l u t of a daughter snores away the night. These people are like a car wreck - you try not to look for the head sitting in the middle of the road, but you must, you must!
