Israel bombed a mosque and the homes of at least half a dozen Hamas leaders in the Gaza Strip on Friday and allowed foreign passport holders to leave the ravaged territory, as speculation rose that a ground assault could be imminent.

A day after an airstrike killed a senior Hamas leader -- the first from the militant group known to have died during the Israeli assault -- Hamas continued to launch rockets into Israel, with several missiles landing in the southern city of Ashkelon. No deaths or serious injuries were reported.

I belive the Germans called it the final solution.............sad and frustrating. Americas blind support for Israel will be its downfall.

Israel needs to make sure it doesn't repeat its mistakes in Southern Lebanon. This latest hostilities should put paid to the idea of "peace for land". Israel has yet to have peace after giving up southern Lebanon and Gaza. They should re-establish control of Gaza for humanitarian reasons and allow the Palestinian people to get out from under their terrorist tyrants.

Shyeah. "Humanitarian" reasons. Just how many settlements in Gaza are they going to rebuild to "support" their "humanitarian" endeavor?

Israel's mistake in Southern Lebanon -- all of Lebanon, really, since they were bombing way up in the northern regions as well -- was the mass murder of civilians. Of course, it's only a mistake if that wasn't your intent...

"I call on the resistance to continue pounding Jewish settlements and cities," said Sheikh Abdelrahman al-Jamal. "We will remain on the path of jihad until the end of days."

Hamas called a "Day of Wrath" against Israel

Hamas has warned it could resume suicide attacks against Israel

Three young brothers -- Iyad, Mohammed and Abdelsattar al-Astal died in a raid that appeared to target a rocket launcher near their house near the city of Khan Yunis, emergency services said.

A mosque in the northern town of Jabaliya that the military said was a "terror hub" used to stockpile weapons, was also hit.

Gaza militants have fired more than 360 rockets into Israel over seven days

Tens of thousands took to the streets of Jakarta, thousands demonstrated in Afghanistan and Turkey, some burning Israeli flags, more than 4,000 Muslims paraded in Sydney and hundreds of Muslims burnt Israeli flags in Indian-administered Kashmir.

Them belly full, but we hungry;
A hungry mob is a angry mob.
A rain a-fall, but the dutty tough (the dirt is tough);
A yot a-yook, but d' yood no 'nough (you've got a pot but not enough food).

Cost of livin' gets so high,
Rich and poor they start to cry:
Now the weak must get strong;
They say, "Oh, what a tribulation!"
Them belly full, but we hungry;
A hungry mob is a angry mob.
A rain a-fall, but the dutty tough;
A pot a-yook, but d' yood* no 'nough (you've got a pot but not enough food).

A belly full, but them hungry;
A hungry mob is a angry mob.
A rain a-fall, but the dutty tough;
A pot a-cook, but d' food* no 'nough.
A hungry man is a angry man;

A hungry mob is a angry mob;

Bob Marley was more than an entertainer to the people of Jamaica and others around the world, especially in Africa. He was also a political symbol. His politics were expressed in songs like "Get up, Stand up."

In December of 1976, there was an attempt to "as * as sin ate" Marley, his family and members of his group, "The Wailers". The motive was judged to be political. He was to appear at the "Smile, Jamaica” concert in Kingston and it was thought that his appearance would sway people towards one of the presidential candidates. The attempt took place on December 3, two days before the concert, which gave credibility to the plot. Bob Marley was w ou nded twice, but defiantly performed anyway.

The late Bob Marley had first hand knowledge of politics, violence and hope for the oppressed. Maybe people should listen to his message.

umm...its a democratically-elected government that is supporting these terror attacks on Israel. Were the duly elected Hamas government TRULY interested in their electors safety & welfare one would think such terror attacks would e the LAST THING they would condone!!! However, since Hamas' oft repeated objective is to eliminate the UN formed State of Israel (and, presumably, committing GENOCIDE to acomplish this objective), then I would think Israel is more then entitld to respond with a force PROPORTIONATE enough to ENSURE such TERROR attacks never again occur. A disproportonate use of force will only end in another temporary ease-fire/truce!!!

Hamas definitely wants Israel to invade. It's much easier being a terrorist than a responsible leader. They wish to emulate their fellows in Hezbollah. Hopefully Israel has planned better and will not repeat the same mistake twice. if they do, say hello to Netanyahu.

Same as with the invastion and rape of Iraq..............the govt will do what it wants to do and there is not a GD thing you can do about it. (aside from things that can't be mentioned here).

Maybe by talking will help convince some of those who think violence is the answer -- for whatever reason. I've seen a mind or two changed in the past couple of days here on this same thread -- and that is progress enough. Maybe more is needed, but every small bit helps...

So when the trolls and the haters appear and wrankle you, suffer them their presence -- speak your mind. When more "liberal" minds say violence is going to work, speak your mind.

Some say the pen is mightier than the sword. Is the Blog mightier than the b0 m b?

At least people have opinions and passions on either side and express them and, in most cases, think about the issues.
Political action is usually sequential. It may be that blog posting results in a letter to the editor or a member of congress, even donating money or time to a political cause or party, perhaps becoming part of a grass roots group. Who knows? Many times you can also learn something here.

In some ways, the Huffington Post resembles a cyber format of the village well of yore.

There is a lot of extremist spin and lies on this topic.

This article, written by an intelligent Israeli war veteran, offers advice to Obama. It is a good read, for us and for him.

When you read that piece and realise Hilary is gonna be the one to negotiate,then there doesnt seem any hope of peace if she continues as her husband did.
Great Article and by an Israeli too.
