Ann Coulter Slams Michelle Obama In New Book

More details of Ann Coulter's next book, Guilty: Liberal "Victims" and Their Assault on America are out revealing how Coulter slams Michelle Obama for her style while applauding that of Cindy McCain.

The Daily News reports:

Coulter wrote, "Her obvious imitation of Jackie O's style - the flipped-under hair, the sleeveless A-line dresses, the short strands of fake pearls - would have been laughable if done by anyone other than a media-designated saint."

Coulter said Cindy McCain, the wife of vanquished GOP nominee John McCain, "dressed well without freakishly imitating famous First Ladies in history."

Coulter facetiously and snidely refers to Michelle Obama as a "saint" and "Mother Teresa" and suggests that her public service career "advanced in lockstep with the political advancement of her husband."

A previous excerpt from November revealed that Coulter refers to President-Elect Obama as "B. Hussein Obama" and mocks the media's love affair for him.

The book goes on sale Tuesday January 6.

No word if her jaw is still wired shut.

GBGB, you're pointing out the obvious. On a left-leaning blog like this, some left-wing figures are going to get more love than right wingers. The blog post on Cindy McCain was catty, the comments section more so, although there were more impartial voices defending McCain as an unfair target. But a blog post is pretty different from a book by a well-known, published and provocative author known for her vitriol and right wing zealotry. The standard you point out makes sense - it's unecessary to rake either spouse over the coals, especially over something as trivial as what they wear. But the two women clearly represent very different things to their followers, for lack of a better word. Is it so surprising that folks here would defend Michelle Obama, especially against someone as offensive as Ann Coulter?

Ms. Coulter should consider the fact that not everyone is privy to a fortune like Mrs. McCain is. Throughout the campaign both women presented themselves to the American people and the world in a manner that I am sure reflected their individual styles. Mrs. McCain was rarely, if ever seen wearing anything without a designer label. Mrs. Obama in an appearence on the Late Show with Jay Leno stated that she is a comfortable in designer labels as she is in JCrew. While I acknowledge that Ms. Coulter is free to speak her mind, she is offensive and needs to stop.

With regards to her continuous reference to President-Elect Obama as B. Hussein Obama, it is his name, the one he was given by his parents. Ms. Coulter's religious prejudice is showing.

The sleeveless sheath dress, pearls, and flipped-under hairstyle is a classic all-American look that is not owned by any single woman. Fortunately, it was flattering to Mrs. Kennedy as it is to Mrs. Obama. No one is "emulating" anybody. Each woman makes the look her own. The style is practical and easy to wear for the busy modern woman.

Let me get this straight. Ann Coulter bashes Michelle Obama's style and Huffington Post readers jump all over Coulter and how inappropriate her comments are (which, by the way, I agree with).

However, last August, the Huffington Post allowed HP contributor Charlotte Andersen to post a column bashing Cindy McCain's style. Not only did the Huffington Post allow Ms. Andersen's column, but hundreds of Huffington Post readers gleefully joined in the bashing.

I totally agree with this person about the double standard on this website.

I voted for McCain but it is over, he lost, and it's time to move on. Let's see what this guy can do. If he doesn't perform, then that is the beauty of this country, we get a chance to speak again in 4 years and select someone else. I for one wish him all the luck since he will need it.

Now on to this Coulter person. I watched the clip of her on CBS. It is pathetic that any media outlet gives this leech a forum. Who is she ? Why does anything that she says have an impact on you or me ? I'm conservative, but I can't stand her. She is an embarassment to the party.

I didn't see the other article about bashing Cindy McCain's style and I'm sure it's on here, but who cares. People really need to start letting go of the hate that these websites perpetuate, it gets us nowhere does it ?

Coulter days must be numbered in the media because she has nothing else better to write about or talk about . The only publicity she can get now is to smear and discredit the good name of others.
