The invasion of a place like Gaza is every commander's nightmare - shades of Stalingrad! Whoever is the Joint Chiefs in Israel should be advising the politicians against this - even armored vehicles are vulnerable in close quarters urban fighting.
But Hamas is taunting Israel.
Hamas wants Israel to invade - it gives Hamas the chance to play the part of defender of Gaza and Israel gets to be Godzilla.
And Israel will fall for it.
You are exactly right. But, let's hope that they decide against it. It would most certainly mean massive civilian casualties.
And I wonder how many Hamas fighters were able to gain valuable experience in the streets of Baghdad, compliments of US Armed Services. This might not go as smoothly as Israel expects, even with their technological advantages.
