Norm Coleman's Term Officially Expires

It might be faster for the next United States senator from Minnesota to get to Washington on a treadmill at this point, considering the incremental progress/regress of the state's general election.

As of noon Saturday, Minnesota was down to just one Senate seat when the term of the incumbent Norm Coleman, a Republican, officially expired with still no resolution in his race against Al Franken, the Democratic challenger.

Minnesota did a great job, we did it fair and square. We counted and recounted over 3 million ballots in six weeks.
Like it says in the film The American President, democracy isn't easy. You've got to work for it. Minnesota did it right. You're just not used to how long that can take, because it's been a while since you've been allowed to see it happen.

Actually Minnesota is suppose to be one of our finest states for election results.

In any Democracy, when an election is extremely close, it will appear chaotic.

Such an election is a good test of a good democracy and counting ballots is not as simple and straight forward as counting marbles.
