"Given that Chairman McAuliffe is a professional fundraiser and his ability to raise money has been a central rationale for his candidacy, it"s surprising he did not raise more money," said McDonnell spokesman Phil Cox.

Since when does being able to raise money make you qualified to run for Governor of a State?

This is just a Job Swatch planned by MCauliffe and Tim Kaine to keep democrats in Power. This guy knows NOTHING about Virginia, has done nothing FOR Virginia.

I hope he's running as a Republican, I mean after all the lavish and praise he laid on them on FOX in the primaries, they owe him.

absolutely no way will he be elected -- can't some prominent democrats pull him aside and tell him

Glad I don't live in VA.

Lived in Northern Va for over 15 years, family members are high ranking Union officials at the AFL-CIO, long standing democrats who protest and worked for the Obama campaign... there's no way we'd vote for him.

Are you or your people reading this? This isn't an invitation to tango, stay away from our families.

I live in VA and despise this bozo. The way he treated President-Elect Obama in the primaries was despicable. Not to mention his drunken tirade on MSNBC. This guy is a loser.

I will be campaigning hard for any Dem candidate here in VA - except him.

Go away, Terry, just go away.

yes, Terry, please do not run for political office, work in a liberal think tank or something

Just the beginning of HRC's run in 2012.

It will be really funny if he, the guy whose optimism bordered on madness, gets elected.

Optimism? Or drunken delusions?

The Democrats should nominate some one else, If Terry is nominated,I believe the Republicans will win. There are many strong Democrats all over the state, especially in Northern Virginia.

i think this will encourage the people ofVa to get involved.

He will not win. He's a beltway politican. Mr. McAuliffe may be from northern Virginia, but he has not served the Commonwealth in any way that would warrant giving him the Governorship. Virginians are fiscal conservatives, social moderates, pragmatic and self-centered. They will elect a Democrat a-la Jim Webb, who has the respect of the military complex or Mark Warner who has the respect of the business community or the smart, kind Tim Caine, who served as the popular Mayor of Richmond and who also married into a respected ex-Governor's family.

My own lasting image of Terry McAuliffe was his very public, childish reaction to the choices of the DNC about how to handle Florida and Michigan delegate counts. The thought of that video clip playing over and over on television by whomever his opponent might be, should be enough to halt any thoughts of campaigning as Governor of Virginia.

He wouldn't get my vote after the things he said and positions he took in the primary.

This the guy who was pushing Hillary despite the writing on the wall. This is the same guy who pushed the FL MI vote be counted though he voted to sanction them to NOT count?

That second point was actually Harold Ickes Jr, and even more distasteful individual

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 10:43 AM on 01/04/2009

Ickes has some ethics and a long history of doing the right thing. He stayed loyal to the Clintons because he is a loyal guy, but he would've been behind Obama in a NY minute otherwise. He's a man of substance.

McAuliffe though is just another opportunistic sack of s**t who will lie through his teeth for this own gain. A drunkard and a clown. I hope he not only loses, he loses humiliatingly.

My lasting memory will be of him drunk on TV wearing a Hawaiian shirt claiming Hillary was going to be the next President even though she had lost North Carolina.
