JACKSON, Ohio — Police say an angry 4-year-old Ohio boy grabbed a gun from a closet and shot his baby sitter. Nathan Beavers, 18, was hospitalized Sunday with minor wounds to his arm and side after the shotgun attack. Police say another teen was also injured.

Witnesses told police the child was angry because Beavers accidentally stepped on his foot. Beavers was watching the child at a mobile home in Jackson with several other teenagers and several other children.

Jackson County Sheriff John Shashteen says authorities are investigating. The child has not been charged.

This is not a guns issue. This is a class warfare issue. It's like blaming people in the ghettos for being enduring all the problems that heroin or crack bring after the Mafia and the CIA flooded their neighborhoods with it. If you keep poor people down, this stuff is the result. But is is all according to plan when the idea is to keep a nice disenfranchised voter bloc under your thumb for the next "election."

Unfortunately I attended Jackson High School, therefore, I know Nathan Beavers. The real question that needs to be asked is, why was he in charge of a child when he needs a babysitter for himself? On top of that who has a four year old and keeps a shotgun with shells lying around? I wouldn't want Nathan around a gun. When you throw in Nathan, babysitting, and gun together too many bad thing could happen. This is not a surprise to me this is Southeastern Ohio a wreck on society.

When Obama pointed out the folks in W. Virginia as clinging to guns and god, these were the people he had in mind. They are victims of a system that keeps them down so they can be used at election time. They deserve our pity, then our help. Each and everyone of them could be a Democrat waiting to happen if our government took the time to show them an alternative that really was in their own best self interest.

I went to Jackson High School with Mr. Beaver until he transferred to a local vocational school. Along with many fellow teachers and students, I was not surprised to hear that he was involved in an accidental shooting involving horseplay.

I have an extremely hard time believing that a four-year-old would have the knowledge to load a gun AND fire it correctly. Has thorough investigation been done?! Clearly not. Has the small child's shoulder been checked for bruises that would have undoubtedly formed after firing a shotgun? I have not read a thing about that. This of course, is assuming that the shooting was done by the child in the first place.

Have the other "babysitters" been thoroughly questioned? I have no reservations in saying that it is highly likely that one of them were involved. What better way to cover up an undoubtedly stupid decision invlolving a firearm than by blaming it on a small child who was unfortunate enough to be in ignorant company?

There seem to be many pieces missing from this puzzle, and sadly, it seems as though news teams aren't dedicated enough to show multiple sides to stories, or even dig deep enough to validate the one side that is show.

It all sounds a bit fishy to me: "Witnesses told police the child was angry because Beavers accidentally stepped on his foot. Beavers was watching the child at a mobile home in Jackson with several other teenagers and several other children."

With as many people around no body else pissed this kid off? And at 4 years old he's able to lift and shoot someone in the arm with A SHOTGUN? How big is this kid? Sounds like someone said let's blame Mikey.

But did the babysitter ask the right questions? Like - Do you have a loaded firearm in the house and does your kid know where it is and how to use it?

At this rate, that child's got one heck of a future as a criminal. I mean, how much more retaliatory could one get? You piss me off, you get shot! And I am friggin' four years old!!! What's he gonna do when he's 14? 40? Heaven help us; someone please de and reprogram that child; it's early yet.

Isn't it amusing how this story was placed right above the "Worst Jobs" story? I think we have a new winner!

The NRA strikes, again.

The NRA teaches gun safety. Two salient point from their web site:

-ALWAYS keep the gun unloaded until ready to use.
-Store guns so they are not accessible to unauthorized persons.

Your argument fails on its merits.

Why are loaded guns left in closets that 4-yr-olds have access to?

And why pray, tell, did the 4-yr-old know how to use it?

1. Because the parents are irresponsible twits.

2. Because it's a simple technology whose operating instructions are supplied through toys and games.

I would like to argue that the parents are true and irredeemable asshats. And the victim needs to sue them.
