Bush Singles Out "Outstanding" Rumsfeld For Praise

President Bush praised his oft-criticized former Defense secretary Donald Rumsfeld as "outstanding" in front of a military crowd on Tuesday.

Bush, at a military appreciation parade in Fort Myer, Va., began his remarks by saying he was proud to serve with Vice President Dick Cheney and other members of his administration. Then he turned specifically to Rumsfeld.

The word hubris was created for warmongers like Rumsfeld just as
stupid was coined for George. Donald not only totally mismanaged
the war, put our soldiers in harm's way, but always seemed to lack
any sense that they were anything but plasticized toys to move about
at will. Of course Bush praised him. Having no heart of his own he
doesn't recognize the deficiency in others. In order to justify his own
disregard for human life he has to praise someone who shown an
equal disdain. Despicable people.

5 to 10 years from now, after many of the posters on this site are long gone from disease or overdose, Pres. Bush will be looked upon as the man who began the transformation of the middle east into democratic states.

One of the heroes will be the guy who oversaw the most successful initial war effort in history, namely, Don Rumsfeld.

Bush and Rumsfeld are both war criminals. The war effort is the whole war, not just the initial invasion. Anybody in America could win the initial invasion using the US military. They screwed up the rest of the illegal, immoral invasion. As for Bush, etc. transforming the middle east, how do you know it wouldn't have transformed without the invasion? How do you know the invasion didn't delay democracy? You don't. You don't know what history would have been. GOP propaganda I know says differently, it's just propaganda, based in nothing.

It's true that I would not want to be in the same room as Rummy, but that's a personal preference. Unfortunately for Rumsfeld apologist such as yourself, they don't erect statues to those who win battles but lose wars. Had Bush dumped Rumsfeld back when it might have done some good in late 2003 after it was clear that he was blinded by his desire to transform warfare, the Iraq War could have cost many less lives. Rumsfeld's pride kept him from listening to sound military advice that could have kept the insurgency from growing the way it did.
