Chicago-Area Job Losses Rise, Highest Since '04
Companies throughout the Chicago area reduced their payrolls in November by the most jobs in more than four years, government figures released Tuesday show.
There were 34,400 fewer people employed in metro Chicago in November compared to the same month a year ago, according to figures from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. That's the biggest drop since February 2004, based on the report.
