Now that you mention it, I haven't seen him around here in a while.

Could it be his H1B expired and they shipped him back to Germania in a pet carrier?

Since the depression appears to be going global, Paraguay may not be that appealing to a certain "Texan" from somewhere in New England who has managed to run this country into the ground with eight years of incompetence and corruption. Can the citizens of the US hold this administration responsible for the utter lack of oversight of governmental agencies and activities and the reckless spending the past eight years and the lies that got us into a phony war following the negligence leading to 9/11. There must be some options left to us to call into account the Bush/Cheney debacle for leaving this country in such a miserable condition before they flee from Washington.

Darlin', when you're fil thy rich and your family "compound" comprises close to a million acres, you have the luxury of ignoring the rest of the world and all of its problems. They should rename Paraguay "State of Bliss".

Even in places like Texas apartment house occupancy is dropping like a rock.

You know the Great Bush Depression is bad when the migrant work force leaves and goes home.
