Josh Brolin: Russell Crowe "An A-hole"

Josh Brolin is one of my favorite actors because he speaks his mind. Last night at the New York Film Critics Awards dinner, at which Brolin won Best Supporting Actor for his work in the drama, "Milk," Brolin stole the show with his candor.

For one thing, he called Russell Crowe, his co-star in last year's "American Gangster," an "a-hole." Oh yes, he did. He said, after Sean Penn introduced him, "Quite an actor, Sean Penn. And not an a-hole like Russell Crowe." He then repeated: "Like Russell Crowe."

He didn't have any nice words for New York Times theater critic Ben Brantley who reviewed him in a performance of Sam Shepard's "True West."

"I hate that motherf-----," Brolin says, "And I don't think he's a good writer."

Josh needs a visit from his mother-in-law Barbra Streisand..I think she could straighten him out and teach him some manners..Oh, wait..I forgot...he doesn't speak to her either...Just saw The Dark Knight and my greatest hope is that the Supporting Oscar will go to Heath Ledger and NOT to Brolin..who is fully expecting it to come his way.

Wouldn't Barbra Streisand be Brolin's "stepmother," not mother-in-law? Colleen Farrington (mother of Brolin's wife Diane Lane) would be his mother-in-law.

Crowe gets testy but he definately has a good heart. Not enough peeps know about his generous nature. Oh, well. Those that matter to him know who he is.

Brolin tried to later retract it by saying Crowe was a "good guy," but the truth is Crowe DOES have the reputation for being an A-hole. So it's nothing new.

Anyone who saw the movie knows that Brolin had a bit part. Russell Crowe's "co-star" in the film was Denzel.

It's unfortunate that Huff didn't publish the full post, because later in the same article Brolin remarked that Russell Crowe is a "good guy". Seems to me that Brolin was just being sarcastic.

When one type A personality meets another, usually the fists fly. But since these are actors, their respective stunt doubles beat the tar out of each other, while they sit in their trailers peevishly insulting each other. May Josh can't handle the truth, maybe he wants someone to make his day, or make him an offer he can't refuse. Something sure got to him.

But now we all know what the 'A' in A-list actor stands for.

Crowe is the worst. He is an average actor at best, and gets by on looks. His movies are crap. Cinderella man was an epic failure, 3:10 to yuma was absolutely generic, and Gladiator was at best a popcorn action movie with pretty good special effects, no more. Even Shatner wipes the floor with Crowe, talent wise. Crowe is a psychopathic violent cretin as well. Nobody likes him, personally. Even his wife is probably only in it for the money.

Dunno, that's like saying Mel Gibson or Clint Eastwood are great actors. They're great at that one character they keep playing. When someone talks about great actors, it conjures up names like Ben Kingsley, Ralph Fienes, Javier Bardem, Harvey Keitel, and maybe even Sean Penn to name a few. Pretty subjective but that's the nature of opinions.

Maybe not the nicest/most professional thing to say but who knows what Crowe did to get Brolin irked at him? In any case, this guy's career has been on fire the last couple of years!
