Anne Hathaway To Obama: Explain Rick Warren

Anne Hathaway spoke her mind about Barack Obama on the red carpet at Tuesday night's Palm Springs Film Festival.

There to accept an award for her role in "Rachel Getting Married," Hathaway talked to E! about what she expects from a President Obama in 2009.

"I expect him to explain that choice of Rick Warren," Anne said. "I don't get it. All my friends and I were trying to figure it out, but we just can't. So I'd love that. But other than that, I expect nothing but the best."

Seems clear to me why he'd invite Rick first it's a national day and regardless of any of differences everyone should be able to play a part in that day. The second there are some that a little unhinged out there some happen to be evangelical but certainly not all this keeps his family safe reaching out. I don't really see it leading to the oppression of the GLBT community or him being a 2nd Bush. Let's just enjoy this great historic day wiht Democrats and Republicans alike. It's a new dawn it can only be anything less than we want it to be if we don't stay organized and let our emotions override our logic.

I don't understand how anyone who supports equal human and civil rights for all people can enjoy the day or the inauguration with a political activist against equal rights for all being honored at the inauguration.

I won't be watching. My husband, grandchildren and I will be in DC to protest Obama's inauguration because we don't want someone who picks and chooses who gets human rights and who doesn't to be our president.
