Anne Hathaway To Obama: Explain Rick Warren

Anne Hathaway spoke her mind about Barack Obama on the red carpet at Tuesday night's Palm Springs Film Festival.

There to accept an award for her role in "Rachel Getting Married," Hathaway talked to E! about what she expects from a President Obama in 2009.

"I expect him to explain that choice of Rick Warren," Anne said. "I don't get it. All my friends and I were trying to figure it out, but we just can't. So I'd love that. But other than that, I expect nothing but the best."

Maybe Anne should branch out and meet a few more people in those states in between NYC and Los Angeles and then she may understand what Obama is thinking. Anne, it is being suggested that Obama will bring an end to Don’t Ask, Don't Tell...Maybe Obama is working all sides. He brings Warren in for a two min invocation, and then works the other side to get things you probably believe in done. Think bigger. Life is not a liberal dinner party filled with actors and fashion people. I'm sure both sides of the political spectrum will be scratching their heads here and there with what Obama does. He SAYS he's a centrist. If that’s true, then you won't be happy sometimes.

I really don't like people who drive down the middle of the road. I much prefer to have them make up their minds about which direction they're going. It just makes life safer and avoids accidents, you know, like those untidy mid-air collisions and head on collisions.

Please explain further. My understanding is that Hathaway is concerned wth gay rights issues and the possible policy implications of an Obama Warren relationship. I did not hear her suggest anything about restrictions on religion. I am not seeing the connection.
