Chris Matthews: 'Chuck Todd Just Lost His Virginity' (VIDEO)

NBC's newly minted Chief White House Correspondent Chuck Todd got to ask his first question at a presidential press conference today and Chris Matthews was very excited for him. Matthews gushed over the familiarity with which Obama treated Todd, saying he was "very impressed." Todd demured, cautioning "who knows what kind of relationship it really is or not, and who knows what kind of relationship it's going to be in the next couple of years."

After discussing Obama's presser, Matthews sent Todd off with a fond "okay, Chief White House Correspondent for NBC News Chuck Todd, who just lost his virginity I think it's fair to say out there." Todd grinned helplessly, telling Matthews "you're killing me with that YouTube moment. I think Jon Stewart just got his clip for the night."

I do not like Gregory or Todd, both hayseeders, unpolished, too full of themselves rather than what they are covering.

I liked David Schuster until he pimped out his wife over some special interview she snagged.

Tom Brokow is too old and his interactions show it; he is biased, has some issues with prejudice, and it is too obvious that he loves McCain.

Anderson Cooper has the most potential but CNN is now using him as an MC and glitz celebrity, which is too bad for him and for us.

THere is no one left in media news that I trust listening to or who I think is doing a great job.

The "news media" isn't limited to self-important, bloviating TV talking heads (although I don't count Todd in that category).

Todd was pretty good through the election season, but ineffective on election night. He is not MTP material, but then again, neither is Gregory. He has not shown that he should have an expanded role.

Chuck Todd made a handful of mistakes today as he lost his press conference "virginity."

1. He fumbled his "Thank you Mr. President-elect" moment.

2. He prefaced his question by saying he knew what they answer was before he asked but was going to ask anyway.

3. He interrupted the President-elect mid-answer.

4. He asked a follow up without either making his original question a two-parter or expressly asking for a follow-up.

5. He showed his displeasure with the answer.

6. He failed to grasp the difference between discussing foreign policy and domestic policy and that the "one president at a time" statement is not being "silent" on the Gaza matter.

7. He missed the "pick your battles" memo. It does not bode well for Todd if he thinks being combative right out of the box is a good idea and that could result in him being frozen out in the future.

I was watching msnbc on election night. When chuck Todd realized Obama had won he choked up, I thought he was going to cry. It was obvious the emotion he was displaying wasn't happiness.

Matthews is mostly entertaining, but i wish he'd shut the hell up after asking a question and let the guest speak--the guy likes the sound (and spit) of his own voice ... please please .. ask your question, then be quiet.
