Joe The Plumber To Become War Correspondent

TOLEDO, Ohio — Joe The Plumber is putting down his wrenches and picking up a reporter's notebook.

The Ohio man who became a household name during the presidential campaign says he is heading to Israel as a war correspondent for the conservative Web site pjtv.com.

Samuel J. Wurzelbacher (WUR'-zuhl-bah-kur) says he'll spend 10 days covering the fighting.

He tells WNWO-TV in Toledo that he wants to let Israel's "'Average Joes' share their story."

Wurzelbacher gained attention during the final weeks of the campaign when he asked Barack Obama about his tax plan.

He later joined Republican John McCain on the campaign trail. At one stop, he agreed with a McCain supporter who asked if he believed a vote for Obama was a vote for the death of Israel.

You know, qualified or not, people can learn. They do need integrity first and far most which leaves the likes of the three stooges out. McCain, Palin and Joe do not fit the integrity category at all. We need trust ones judgment and they don't even come close. Caroline is a different story. She was JFK's daughter for Heaven's sake and one can tell she's a decent caring person whom power and greed hasn't corrupted. These characters are so corrupt, even little children can pick up on it.

Caroline Kennedy finished in the top 5% at Columbia Law, passed the Bar on her first go around (nearly no one who takes it ever does) and has authored or co-authored more than 15 books, including scholarly works dealing with constitutional law, the Bill of Rights and rights to privacy.

Joe the Plumber, meanwhile, has strung together a series of laughably simplistic concepts and near-inarticulate sentences for an online media group with the word "pajamas" in its name.

Bring it on. The more of an idiot he makes of himself, the more he drags down the reputation of McCain and Palin. And Palin needs to be far, far, away from politics.

I hope no harm comes to him. Perhaps he should not be going as this sounds more like a "publicity stunt" as opposed to a real assignment. Hopefully, Joe has been "briefed" on protocol and the "situation" and knows all of his options. Joe may ask himself, "What would Sarah do?", and go off on his own and try to do some negotiating. Well, we will see.

A little accuracy would be preferred.
He gained attention due to McCain repeatedly invoking "joe the plumber" during one of the debates (the last I believe).

True, he spoke to Obama before the debate - but that was not news until McCain made the guy famous.

Don't mean to be super picky, but I've seen a ton of 'jounalists' with poor memories lately, or they simply weren't paying attention.
