Daley: Don't Blame City For Blowing $153M Federal Transportation Grant
Mayor Daley said today he tried to salvage $153 million in federal funding awarded to Chicago to create 10.2 miles of "bus rapid transit" service, but "inflexible" federal bureaucrats would not allow it.
"They were flexible for the banks. They were flexible for bailing everyone out. But, when it comes to us ... they said, 'No. The next administration will handle it -- Obama's administration.' So, that was it," Daley said.
