Lilakoi, 41, has a daughter Zoe, 20, with ex-husband Lenny Kravitz and a daughter Lola, 20 months, with boyfriend Jason Momoa of "Stargate: Atlantis" fame.

From the fan forum on his official site.

He was born on the stormest, rainy night.

so Nakoa(warrior)...Mana(strength/spirit) Kaua(rain) po(dark)...

The name was always going to be Nakoa-Wolf, but Jason did the research on first middle name, 2nd middle name as you know is Jason's.

Bonet can currently be seen on ABC's "Life on Mars."

Why don't people just congratulate her and her man Jason Momoa (Stargate Atlantis) on the birth of their son? Geez, American's can really be so simple-minded. She looks terrific at 41 and he is a beauty. I am sure the baby is be gorgeous and hopefully people see this beauty before passing judgment on the name.

OK, so I'm a white European, and even I recognised this child's names as Polynesian...surely Americans ought to be used to Hawaiian names, what with it being a state and all?

My daughter has a common Irish name with traditional spelling, and while my family and friends on the East Coast have no trouble at all pronouncing it, most here on the West Coast are thrown for a loop by it...and pronounce it the way it's written. *eyeroll* But we deal with it, you know? It's a nod to (50%) of her heritage and she's the only one in her school with that name!

At least it's only two syllables.

Ia'u no he kanaka maoli, 'A'ole na makou i koho e lilo i kanaka Amelika. He pomaika'i no, ke malama mau 'ia nei ka olelo, na loina, a me na moomeheu o ko makou mau kupuna. Eia na'e, mau no ka hooulu kala 'ia 'ana o ko makou loina e na Amelika.

Being of the original people of Hawaii, it was not our choice to be an American and some of us do not consider ourselves Americans. Luckily we still have our language and culture which Americans constantly try to capitalize on.

''surely Americans ought to be used to Hawaiian names, what with it being a state and all?''

I don't mean to break it to you.... we're the country that elected Bush twice and a significant portion of our population cannot locate our own f@#%ing country on a World Map.

I was in kindergarten when I learned how to spell my 13 letter, Hawaiian middle name. I'm sure the kid will do just fine.

Well, we all know that education in America is for only the VERY VERY rich....because it is certainly not for the unintelligent masses. Every Hawaiian child knows how to spell his name....

The rest of the U.S. is pretty disrespectful of Hawai'i. Lisa's names are good Hawaiian names although it points out why you should have a person knowledgeable in olelo Hawai'i name your child. Kaua means warfare. ua is rain.

And while I'm feeling insulted by the insularity of the mainland U.S. :-) I also can't believe that young punk on MSNBC who dissed Obama for eating spam musubi (accent is NOT on the 2nd syllable) Does he also make fun of other culture's favorite foods?

spam musubi = fried slice of spam with rice wrapped in nori (seaweed).

I grew up eating Spam because it was inexpensive. I didn't appreciate it until a few years ago when some Hawaiian friends who own a restaurant in California made Spam musubi for me. Couldn't get enough of it. Yum!

Well, let me level with all those who see a foreign name and immediately discard it as weird. For as long as there are other countries apart from America, there will always be foreign names. I'm from Nigeria and in my country, we pride in giving our children native names. As a Yoruba woman, married to a Yoruba man, we have 3 children and their names are, Oluwatoyin--the Lord is worthy to be praised; Oluwatayo--the Lord is our joy and Oluwatobi--the Lord is great. These names are a testimony to the goodness of God. Now to an American, they may sound weird. But not to us and definitely, not to God.
Except that in Lisa's case, she's American. But I'm sure those names to her are as normal as waking up in the morning and going to bed at night. So b4 you condemn somebody's name as weird, remember this. May be to a Japanese or Taiwanese, your name means something terrible in their language. But you it's perfectly normal and sweet.

What was Super-cali-fra-gi-listic-ex-piali-docious too pretentious??

I guess if you named him Mike or Steve he's just not that special. Sad.

Let me guess, he'll be wearing $200 Ugg boots by age 4.
Yeah, real spiritual.

Pretentious? So because its not a "caucasian" name, its pretentious? Its a Hawaiian name, as the baby IS part Hawaiian. What does being pretentious have to do with it? In Hawaii, no one would blink an eye at this name. Get a grip. There are OTHER people and races you share this world with- you knitwit. Personally, I would rather have a name with that my parents actually took the time to think about...a name with meaning. Hmmm...whats the meaning of Mike? Or Steve??

I agree with your comment of course. Still, you might like to know that Mike is Hebrew (מִיכָאֵל , Mikha'el ) and means "Who is like God?", while Steve is Greek (Στέφανος, Stephanos) meaning "crown, garland" :-)

I think she must BE from Mars. Ya know, that's just mean to burden a child with a name like that. Wonder why she changed her name Lisa Bonet was a pretty name, now she ' mumbo jumbo. Ya think Hollywierd really affects their brains.
