MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - 1 of 2 Texas men accused of possessing Molotov cocktails during the Republican National Convention has pleaded guilty.

The U.S. Attorney's Office says Bradley Neal Crowder, of Austin, pleaded guilty Thursday in federal court in Minneapolis to one count of aiding and abetting possession of an unregistered firearm. A sentencing date has not been set.

Meanwhile his co-defendant, David Guy McKay of Austin, is scheduled to go on trial on Jan. 26.

Prosecutors allege McKay and Crowder were part of an Austin-based protest group that planned to use incendiary devices to destroy property or injure police during the Republican National Convention.

The convention was at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul, Sept. 1-4.

Jeff DeGree is McKay's attorney. He said he doesn't believe Crowder's plea will affect McKay's case because the evidence against the two men is different.

Cheney used GWB as his personal Molotov cocktail, to burn down Rome while the Congress fiddled. Arrest Cheney for inciting people into acts of conspiricy and conceived violence due to his and the GOP's dynamiting our economy like a Humvee on a Baghdad highway, and making Americans hate their Government in a way not seen since Redcoats and Hessians roamed the 13 colonies. Indict Dick Cheney for profiteering, Skullduggery, Jostling, and Capital Mopery. And a Molotov Cocktail ( unregistered with the BATFE, and without the prerequisite $200 tax stamp) is not an "unregistered firearm" under federal Statues ( USC 922 series ), but an "AOW", or Any Other Weapon. If they had constructed these molotovs with a serial number, and registered them, they actually might have gotten away with toting them around minneapolis. Or maybe not...who knows? These 2 pseudo-domestic terroristas may have an 'ineffective assistance of counsel' claim in the future.

What about all the legitimate, non-violent protestors who were treated like criminals at the GOP bash -- and I mean that literally? What about Ellen Goodman, brutalized and jailed for trying to DO HER JOB as a respected journalist?

Huffpo, cover the whole story. Two goofballs out of thousands of protestors is not an honest picture.

I hardly say she was brutalized. Get a life!

Brutalized might be a stretch but it doesn't change the significance that the media, in America no less is being hauled off and jailed. That should concern everyone that loves freedom.

The two guys are an embarrassment to the Austin Democrats ......what on earth were they thinking?

Violence is never the answer.

I don't think they are Democrats. Some of these people act out like this and do not participate in the system the way it is designed. Extremists left and right are not helfpul at all if they will not discuss issues and compromise to find a solution...

I think they're neocon moles - like the jerks who infiltrate animal-rights groups and commit illegal acts to discredit the groups, or the FBI informers who wormed into the civil rights movement in the 60's. These guys sound like they were hired from the "cheap thug" classifieds in Soldier of Fortune.

HEY! I resent your comment about the cumulative IQ of Texans. Just because W. is Texan and we put up with him for six years as Gov. doesn't mean we're all stupid. Matter of fact, it is the LEGISLATURE in Texas that has the most power, the Gov. is just a figurehead.
The fact that these guys were both from Austin doesn't mean much either. There's a rather LARGE UNIVERSITY here--and most students give their mailing addresses as 'Austin' when they are here. Don't agree with their actions. Don't agree with their politics. But still--TEXAN!

There are morons in every state. Texas just seems to have more than its share because we've put up with 8 years of the Bushwhackers. Texas Dems are strong, though -- they have to be. I had an elderly friend who called herself a "Texas mule," and she voted for every Democratic president in her long lifetime.

But there is good news Texans: .....................

Alaska (with their Palin) has certainly caused Texas to drop down a notch on the top 10 list of states with more than theit share of morons. .............. I do believe that Alaska has the top spot.
