Tom Cruise On Suri's Fame, Stage Hunger (VIDEO)

Tom Cruise appeared on "The View" Friday for most of the hour. In addition to expressing strong condolences to the Travolta family during the interview, which taped on Thursday, he talked about daughter Suri.

Elisabeth asked what he thinks of Suri's fame, and Cruise answered that he is torn. "It's both very flatteringly and you go, 'it is what it is.'"

He then told a story about going to see Katie Holmes (30 times and counting) in her play "All My Sons. Recently he has sat with Suri on his lap in the wings to watch, and Suri climbed out of his lap and inched her way towards the stage, batting away her dad's hand when he tried to lure her back.

I'm surprised people really think Tom only takes care of Suri. That is the media who only covers Suri. The media is not interested in Connor or Isabella otherwise you would see them all. It's not that Tom is not around them. It is more the media does not feel it would grab readers and viewers.

what Tom said about Brook's promotion of drugs and the attitude out there that drugs solve everything was not only supported by experts in the if field but acknowledged as true by Brook later herself. She wrote a misleading book that sold people on drugs as a cure-all and it is she that was out of line, not Tom. Of course the pharmas that sell all this stuff to people dont give a hoot if you actually need it or not and all you suckers who went after Tom did their dirty work for them. Congrats!

I watched segments of an old Larry King interview with John Travolta last night. Travolta seems to be one of the nicest guys anywhere. I don't blame Cruise for getting emotional about the death of his friend's son.

Have met John and he is, indeed, a very nice and generous person.

I have yet to read of anyone blaming Tom for getting emotional regarding Jett.

Most folks here are commenting on how bizarre Tom is regarding using Suri as PR now aside from the past strangeness of the guy.

Oh please he and Katie always alert the press as to Suri's appearance, if they could install a big clear glass window in the bathroom, they'd be alerting the press that Suri goes potty, and you know if they could they put it on a Jumbotron. (maybe on the side of a blimp). I don't understand all this hype about Suri, Tom and Katie. Suri is famous for ?????????????? and Tom and Katie are WAY overrated as actors. They have a very very good marketing and publicty team.
