Earl Ofari Hutchinson: Madoff's Guilty Plea Scam
Bernie Madoff may have one last scam in him. And this one may be the biggest and most infuriating of all. He may sleaze his way out of rotting away his last days in prison.

Charles H. Green: Madoff: Investment Fund, or Virtual Reality Game?
It's beginning to look like Madoff's business model had less in common with a hedge fund or investment management firm than it did with an online virtual reality game.

Vicky Ward: Take That Smug Smile Off Madoff Now
Even if Madoff goes to jail today, he still doesn't face indictment for at least another 30 days. The grand jury has been given an extension to deliberate -- and some of us are baffled as to why.

"Dear neighbors, in exchange for all the support you've shown me, I'd like to do something for you -- in the form of the investment opportunity of a lifetime."

WHY do we have these types of people on street?
NOW I can really see... life was great when things were simple...
Madoff missed his Payoff. That's all their is to it. What he was doing everyone on Wall Street was and is doing. We need a good ole revolution, French style. bring on the guillotines!
It was the same thing I was thinking when the read the posts on a victim of Madoff. The natives are restless and pissed....The TARP fund push needs to rethink about their final assault on the little guy.
I am sure this brother knew exactly what was going on...
Great idea LondonTownNY
I will take that a step further . . .
a trail run - pilot show with
the' Bern
Public PAY - FOR - VIEW (with special guest appearances)
High bidders, to option front - shoe throwing - rows and seats.
Those that cannot afford shoes... we'll we will provide them
free of charge! to pelt those which sold so many of us out!
Please all proceeds, (admittedly a VAST amount of international currencies)
to serve the profoundly complicated process and those affected by crimes.
ALL *socio-economic, race and ethnic classes* will be accepted, open to all.
Anonymous donations will be accepted by ALL willing - often ailing political
officials that ?feel guilty? for their part(s) in OUR great nations' demise.
We can start with the obvious and the oblivious wrong doers,
I am sure that that there will be no shortage of truly guilty people
(with the financial mess that our world is in) and this could
in the long run serve to offset or replace many traditional
Sporting events, fake wrestling and even American Idolt.
We could even solicit REAL Ultimate Fighting champions to ex_cerise
real f e a r on the many bad guys and criminals - many possible stars of this
international TV Series, ones that we already know well, are familiar with.
Some other series idea (I do have many ideas...)
*Americas Biggest Loser...
kind of like wack-a-mole. well close.
*American Gladiator meets Joe the Politi_cian(s),
Joe Bank_ster(s) or Joe the Rip
Its going to be one big show, since one man had to have had cooperation from his insiders in this ponzi scheme, and with his latest fiasco of $173 million dollars in pre-written checks he almost sent to family and friends, each and everyone ought to be suspect as a co-conspirator!
The uber-rich (albeit someone elses' money)
being PROTECTED by the uber rich.
This unfair class system stinks,
has got to be brought down.
RICO sound fair to all which
are aiding and abetting.
Anyone who thinks that Madoff pulled off a $50 billion dollar ponzi scheme for more than a decade without help is either a fool or on the take.
But wait there will be more! The media will keep the veil on this because they do not understand what is going on, just like they do not understand the bail out. Spoon feed them, the media that is, so they can give some phony story to the masses.... very sad..
The Huffington Post should not put the WSJ articles on its site because reading these articles requires a subscription. I doubt many Huffington readers are going to subscribe to the WSJ when the NYTimes and the Washington Post are available free of charge.
CNN did a really good report on the Madoff scandal and huge rip off with some facts that have not really been put before the public such as the fact that as far back as 1999 there were articles questioning Madoff's entire operation even referring to it as a possible ponzi scheme....
Then there was a report even more or less whistle blowing detailing Madoff's entire scam and operation and the SEC ignored it as recently as 2006...
They CNN also explained that many admit that the SEC is full of people who are not qualified for the job and it's purpose, this being done intentionally by the criminal Bush administration who did the same to so many other agencies so as to enable the thievery that will be it's trademark and legacy...
Madoff should have been stopped years ago but the hatred for our government and the agencies designed to protect Americans were all gutted and destroyed by the Republicans and G.W. Bush...so now we must pay the piper...for the "Conservative" folly and ideology, of destruction and hypocrisy..!
I saw that report and it was clear and well organized. The SEC is a toothless, blind tiger. The people working in it do so just to leave and go to work for the very institutions which they were supposed to police.
One can imagine what it became under Bush, when incompetence was rewarded even further.
okay, a whistleblower blew the whistle 5 years ago on this Ponzi scheme. WTF!?? Kinda late to be investigating, isn't it? Was an audit not already done? WTF?
Why isn't the entire family and all top leadership in jail now charged under The RICO statute...?
Just because they're not Italians, I guess...
How was this not racketeering...?
RICO probably would hang them all.
Wrong law to prosecute Madoff and conspirators with.

This man had to have tons of assistance in just creating the paperwork generated for the investors. Permitting him to be free is a farce.
There is no way that the family members and other higher officers did not know what was happening. One investor sent $250 MILLION to him just days before he was arrested. There have to be bank accounts, vaults, and other assets stashed everywhere and his wife, his family, and close associates have to have some of it, as well.
Orange. Jumpsuit. Now.
Sadly, for the number of white collar criminals that should be behind bars, there aren't jails in the whole country. Instead, the jails are full of the low hanging fruit - the poor, the ethnic, and the defenseless.
It's ridiculous that they have taken this long to reach this conclusion.
Duh! In the meantime I'm sure someone's been moving funds and hiding money.
That's what I'm sayin! The Feds spent a mil or two to let the American taxpayer know that they suspect relatives are involved in the Ponzi scheme. How many years of training does an agent need to discover the obvious? How many degrees do you need to figure that out?
I think the Feds need to speed up the imprisonment of the entire Madoff family until someone in the family wants to cut a deal.
You are absolutely right. These criminals should not be walking around mailing out their assets to friends and family members and being able to have their dinners delivered to their apartments from top restaurants. They should be treated like the common criminals that they are.
count on it.
The power players and people (politicians & bank sters)
Are giving this player time to shuffle around and get Madoffs
affairs in order and pad there coffers? in the process.
It just makes not sense.
The BIG people in town and of the town are (or must be) involved.
Round em' up, treat them any of the rest of us, and charge
them for breaking the laws that the rest of us are bound
to and DO abide by. This is unfortunate.
