J. Lo To Speak At Inaugural Ball Despite Reported Obama Snubs

J. Lo, who has donated to Hillary Clinton in the past, is planning to speak at the Latino Inaugural Ball on Sunday night and her husband Marc Anthony will sing. The announcement has reportedly ruffled some feathers in the Latino community.

According to Page Six:

One power player called them "vile opportunists for worming themselves into anything Obama related even though they had nothing to do with his win."

According to the source, Anthony refused to perform for Obama during a crucial get-out-the-Latino-vote event in Orlando, Fla., two weeks before the election and Lopez refused to endorse Obama unless he called her himself, which he didn't. The Orlando event went on without them and featured Bill Clinton and Jimmy Smits.

She's a beautiful woman and she's very good at being Important and Selling Herself to Us in such a multitude of ways. None of which is relevant in the current world we live in...where most of us are more worried about our mortgage than buying JLo's latest clothing invention.

The idea that she would tell her people to tell Obama's people that she's waiting for a phone call is simply....PATHETIC.

In most people's book's, Obama is much more important. We're in several wars, our global economy has tanked, and we're falling into a deep recession if not depression. I could give two craps about JLo or whatever she calls herself now. JHO. Do your part for this country, JLo. Step it up and give a little.

First it was Diddy when she wanted a break into music as a rapper with her Jenny from the block, that venture failed and she moved on. Next came Ben who publicly announced that she was the worse mistake of his career. She dated him in hopes of breaking into movies which all of them with Ben failed. So she moved on. Mark is a Latino so she needed him to have babies and cross over into Latino movies. Every man in her life has been for a purpose. She is over 35 with 2 babies and a husband and had no business out in that dress but as been reported, she misses the limelight and needs it back to feel whole. This chance to be an opportunist is not new and anyone that has followed her career knows it.

Having said that, If J-Lo and her husband have decided to join the Obamamania bandwagon, please let them be. Afterall, President-Elect Obama is not gonna be our president alone, but theirs as well. There are many people (even on this forum) who only joined the Obama bandwagon only after it became apparent he was going to win.

This is the time to join hands regardless of our present or past differences and give our President-Elect the support he deserves to deliver this country from the present mess.
