In his final press conference this morning, President Bush was asked to respond to his harshest critics over the past eight years, whom Charles Krauthammer has described as being afflicted with

Via Think Progress, Krauthammer later appeared on Fox News with this gem of a reference to the Iraqi shoe-throwing journalist Muntadhir Al-Zaidi: "[Bush] took a shoe for the country, a bullet for the country."

Check out the video for Krauthammer's full response:

Yes, I guess Krauthammer think Bush deserves a Purple Heart medal for ducking the shoe. Then for ducking the Vietnam War, Bush must deserve a Silver Star.

It seems like a bit of a stretch to compare someone who takes a bullet for his country, with someone who gets a shoe thrown at them.
But I guess, for a chicken-hawk, getting a shoe thrown at them it is the equivalent of being a combat vet.

Krauthammer's theory of "Bush Derangement Syndrome" is based on the premise that hatred of or dislike for George Bush is baseless and irrational. At this point, though, more than 75% of America disapproves of George Bush -- the highest Presidential disapproval rating in history. Would Krauthammer really have us believe that the overwhelming majority of the American public is deluded and deranged? Maybe it's Charles Krauthammer who is deranged and deluded into thinking that George Bush is anything other than an abject failure.

There's more coming your way Krauthammer. This should be adopted as therapy for the political class.

Krauthammer on a show last sunday was asked how long would it be before Bush's economy would become Obama's economy...he replied...six months...well since 9/11 happened 8 months after Bush took over..than Krauthammer must believe that 9/11 was all Bush's fault and not Clinton's like he said previously.

KrautHammer, he's German right?

Bush was in over his head the hole time in office, he thought he was going to be on auto pilot and not have to do zippo except appear hear or there, he seemed surprised when he actually had to react to anything / something, every time. he just wasn't mentally prepared for the authority and responsiblity of the office. His advisors / cabinent did not serve him well. it seemed they all wore blinders.

he had no vision for himself, his country or even his legacy. he got the presidency because of his last name and nothing else. it's sad that someone this bad could be re elected.

i mean if he could manipulated as a puppet, like, lets do this and see if he reacts that way, he is extremely easy to figure out.

i think the thing i disliked the must about him was his inability to speak in public, his tempo or cadence is horrible and the second i hear it, i almost immediately become on edge and angry and completely turned off to what ever he is talking about.

sad sad sad

Face it. George W. Bush could deep fry and eat a live baby on national television and Charles Krauthammer would come out in favor of deep-fried baby.

Bush more like took a series of photo ops for the country. The most infamous being the one in pilot gear and the speech under the "mission accomplished" banners.

Can someone please explain to me why so many of these right wingnuts like krughtman seem to be the perfect husbands for a stepford wife. It's almost like they have an ear implant and robotically recite their agenda in a very disturbing manner. Maybe there really is a big brother out there and folks like charles are just under the spell.

Hey Charles, why didn't you take your shoes off.

I just got it! The media must have all these right-wing dead-enders on contract. Why else fly Krauthammer's flag in any way? He and his ilk have been wrong about EVERYTHING since Ronald Reagan. Allan Greenspan himself is gob-stopped and admits it. Krauthammer has been right about nothing, ever. He is completely irrelevant.

The whole media thing is set up so these nuts have a platform. His veiw is in no way helpful to out present desperate situation. I am disgusted. I don't find it funny Krauthammer still has a job. This guy should go to prison for complicity in the betrayal of our Constitution.

I think Krauthammer is really James Carville in a wig.

Is there anybody more lost that Charles Krauthammer? Even Bill Kristol at least knows he's lying. I'm surprised nobody has been throwing shoes at the Kraut. Or is that just not newsworthy?
