In his final press conference this morning, President Bush was asked to respond to his harshest critics over the past eight years, whom Charles Krauthammer has described as being afflicted with

Via Think Progress, Krauthammer later appeared on Fox News with this gem of a reference to the Iraqi shoe-throwing journalist Muntadhir Al-Zaidi: "[Bush] took a shoe for the country, a bullet for the country."

Check out the video for Krauthammer's full response:

Is he hopeful he'll get a job at the ranch? To defend this man seeing the condition in which he is leaving the country, is something only a psycho would do.

Wow! I learned some news from him that I hadn't heard before. Did you guys know that the Iraq War was a success? Cool! He must have some double secret special inside info that the rest of us are missing!

Somebody had better go inform the Iraqi's.

Especially the 4 million refugees.

They will be happy to know the war was a success. Too bad they can't all go home.

Republican response to Durango (with vacant eyes): 'would ya rather have Saddam in there again? (Sharply) Don't look at the Iraqi, Obama lover...I'm asking you!!'

Did anyone ever see that news show where a young Iraqi man, not long in the states, tries telling conservative types on the street that things are far worse now in his country then they ever were under Saddam. Predictably, he had more than one finger pointed in his face telling him how it REALLY was 'over there'. Unbeknownst to him apparently, his formerly affluent, close-knit family enjoyed losing everything they ever had (including each other) and being scattered to the wind because now THEY WERE FREE and THEY WEREN'T BEING RAPED AND TORTURED anymore.

So many people went inside their heads and shut off the power switch the day they saw the MISSION ACCOMPLISHED banner.

He has as much credibility as OJ. I can recall vividly his cheerleading for the invasion of Iraq. If I ever see this guy or the smirking Bill kristol I'm gonna reach for my shoes!

So now -- having a shoe thrown at him is an admirable thing? Bushy is a joke!

Charles Krauthammer is only wrong in two areas: Foreign Policy and Domestic Policy. He knows little about either. His words are drivel. He hides a lot of facts, or just lies. But ONLY in those two areas: All of Domestic Policy and all of Foreign Policy.

Other then those two areas, Krauthammer is a very knowledgeable man you can always trust.

We should just giggle. Surely Krauthammer was making a big joke. You know, sort of tongue in cheek. But to be specific, that is the only sacrificial thing that Bush has participated in. And let us remember, the shoe missed Bush - entirely. So much for the rogors of his Presidency. Ughhh!!!!!

Wold somebody,... somebody,... see to it that Krauthammer is hit with a pie (or worse) sooner, rather than later?

I'll volunteer a set of old, stinky shoes to anybody with opportunity and a better throwing arm that I do to do the job.
