I am so disgusted by Amy now. I used to defend her and stick up for her, but that is just pathetic. And yes, I have a family full of alcoholics but I've NEVER seen someone crawling on their hands and knees into a restaraunt to steal someone elses' drink.

If you look at photos of Amy Winhouse from back in 2004 you can see that she WAS a beautiful woman. Pete Doherty turned her onto drugs and absolutely ruined her!

This story is from the Sun, I wouldn't read too much if anything at all into it. The Sun is just a British tabloid that is probably 98% false or just gossip. Notice no named sources, no photo's of her actually taking shots. Just one of her sitting at the table, one doing yoga, and one where she is on the floor where they say she is prowling for booze. Give me a break, the Sun makes TMZ look like a classy and professional media outlet. Just think about how many times a day you might have a photo taken of you doing something like getting up from tying your shoe, only for the headline to read the following day, " xxxxx attempts to get back on feet after downing a bottle of whiskey and falling on face". Winehouse has been a train wreck, but this story is most likely garbage.

I think we don't realize how difficult the addiction is. The painful struggle is avoiding the withdrawal symptoms. Stop the intake, and the body shakes uncontrollably, or whatever. It's beyond anyone's help, unless a relative forces her to be hospitalized and IV'd until withdrawal is over. Then, they need to forcibly keep her away from the drugs and alcohol. Not an easy task. Very painful for relatives to watch, what she needs is a miracle.

A disease is caused by a germ, a virus or bacteria. Alcoholism is an addiction. Someone doesn't sneeze on you and you become an alcoholic. You drink too much booze to self-medicate and use it as a crutch, to deaden the pain. Amy Winehouse is destroying her own life. She is not the victim of some disease, she is the victim of her own shoddy judgement and excesses.
Using your theory, diabetes is not a disease. I hope nobody sneezes diabetes on me.

Just because doctors have classified it as a disease does not make it a disease in the true defintiion of the word. You can get cancer without ever having done a thing wrong such as smoking, but you can't become an alocholic unless you consume alcohol. What you are the doctors are describing is ADDICTION. A person becomes addicted to the medicating effects of booze. The flu is a disease...

Maybe she shouldn't be at a all-inclusive resort! They have these facilities called rehabilitation centers where you can't beg for drinks and smoke joints poolside, because there aren't any drugs or booze to be found. Winehouse has money and notoriety, and you mean to tell me no one, not even family have the love or will to send her to a place where she can get the help she needs?

While paparazzi lie in wait hoping to get the last picture of a "live and breathing" Amy Winehouse they also wouldn't hesitate to get a picture of her on cold cement with a chalk line surrounding her.
The stories and pictures that accompany Amy Winehouse are as disgusting as her willingness to descend repeatedly to the level of the vultures circling what remains of her.
I have nothing but sorrow and compassion for Amy Winehouse. She is surrounded and immersed by demons who feed on her when they should simply stop profiting off of her death march.
I roll my eyes at every story and picture of her. Not in judgement of her, but in judgement of the human being who made a buck off of snapping a photo or sitting at a keyboard pretending they aren't participating in her death. That includes this website.
