I Like ItI Don’t Like It

Sarah Obama, Barack's Kenyan grandmother, is on her way to Washington for the inauguration bearing some unusual gifts.

Barack does not know her well, as she was the stepmother of his Kenyan father, though he did spend some time with her in Kenya. Read more about it.

See more Obama slideshows.

This is so touching. My Great Great Grandmother was a slave from Africa. I wish my Great Grandmother Madear just could have held on for 4 month to witness this Historic Day. I will make sure to go to her grave in Louisiana and tell her "I told You Madear". I had the opportunity to visit while filming "The Great Debaters" in Mansfield, Louisiana. Her words to me were very touching she said Madear is 104, I'm getting old. If it God will she will be here to witness this Historic Day. I also had the chance to see my Grandfather Webb Lofton who too passed before he could witness this Historic Day. He gave me a lot of history for my children. I to will love to go to Africa and help as much as possible for my ancestors. Thanks Michelle and Obama and all of The Obama Supporters. Also Oprah Winfrey you are the BEST! We did it. YES WE CAN!!!

Just Great!! and right after the events, send them packing home! Obama had to reach out to them first, when he visited Kenya. Now non of these women had an ounce of His blood running through their veins, and after all these years he is being claimed by them. Where were they when he was a child, going through whatever he went through to survive, where were these woman when he was a teenager, trying to find his place in this world? His Mother and Grandmother are gone now, and these women think they can step in and take their places, I hope he will not allow that!

Everything happens for a reason. Obama's family story is amazing, and I think that it is what made him who he is today. We need challenges to grow, and Obama is a fantastic, forgiving person who understands and has made peace with his upbringing - which allows him to go forward in life with such confidence.

We must never assume that we know what is best for another, or what "should" or "shouldn't" occur. The greatest people make the most of their challenges and opportunities and know that they are neither "good" nor "bad" - simply experiences to which they assign meaning.

You speak as if these women could have hopped on a plane to come and take care of him!

Think before you speak, please!

Is he flying her in to watch him be sworn in? I'm sure she would burst with pride.
