Gwyneth Paltrow To Open A Gym

Gwyneth Paltrow has a new job, and it isn't acting.

Paltrow, who shared her grueling workout secrets with Oprah last year, is partnering with her trainer to open a gym:

For her latest venture, the "Iron Man" star is partnering up with friend and trainer Tracy Anderson to open a gym in Tribeca, her rep tells the Daily News.

Add that to running Goop.com, mugging for Estee Lauder and starring in the PBS TV series, "Spain ... on the road Again" with Mario Batali and you've got one busy bee.

No other details on the gym are available yet. Paltrow, who keeps a home in downtown New York, will next be seen in a movie in 2010, and will star in "Iron Man 2."

She debuted her post-two-children body during the press junket for "Iron Man," and then worked out for Oprah's cameras. Watch some of that workout here.

It is quite interesting that both of you, Gwyneth and Madonna, have endorsed Tracy Anderson as a product and neither of you, with all of your resources, did any due diligence before doing so. I hope at the very least that this gets the attention of a few fact finders and attorneys within your organizations, before someone gets hurt and demands the studies and research materials trying to prove negligence.

Well, having a famous female celebrity associated with a gym could be a good thing, if it resulted in more women lifting real weights, instead of waving around pastel colored dumbells for upteeth repetitions that are a total waste of time. Let me ponder this one.

I love the idea! Gwyneth is no stranger to modern healthy ideas. She discusses her life-road-to-health in many interviews. And she's done it all! Gone vegan, embraced coconut water, raved about macrobiotic diets, done juice fasts, munched raw food, and even gone back to eating lean meat and fish again! And she even did a "I-have-to­tal-envy-a­s-a-hardco­re-foodie" Spain tour with not-so-vegan chef Mario Batali.

She's right up there with Madonna and Alicia Silverstone when it comes to 'healthy lifestyle' trendsetters. And I love that she is opening the gym in NYC, not LA.

LA would be so cliche. A celebrity gym? How very 'celebrity restaurant' a la Eva's Beso, of her.

I'm sure the gym will be posh and pricy. Fine. Anything that leads the eye of society to gaze upon health and fitness, is a great thing.
