I Like ItI Don’t Like It

By referring to Bush's last press conference as an example of the "power of rationalization" in "easing the bright glare of ... failure," Jon Stewart also perfectly captured the motivations behind Sarah Palin's recent and seemingly unstoppable Victim Offensive. She's making documentaries and getting interviewed by Esquire -- and she doesn't seem to realize that giving everyone the same quotes lessens the value of a complaint had that little in the first place. Nor does she seem to understand that really, she should go away for awhile and maybe perform the duties of her office, unless she thinks Alaska's economy can be buoyed by "doin' that media criticism stuff, right there, you betcha." Stewart's take on the matter is smart and thoughtful, and he tears apart her nonsensical contentions, especially the one where she suggests she'd have been treated better by the media if she was on the Obama ticket.

But let's face it, most of you will be most tickled by the graphic the show comes up with for the segment: "Blamey Whinehouse." Well played.

Memo from Mitt Romney to the RNC: "Get that woman off the national stage before 2012."

We should all hope SP never goes away. People have short memories and the more she stays visible the less likely we will forget how inept the carbuncle on the behind of progress really is. Anyone in her position with the sense God gave a rock would go underground ,reinvent themselves, infuse themselves with relevant knowledge of world events, get a vocal coach, manage the affairs of their elected office in an effort to at least appear credible, attend to the needs of those who elected her, read newspapers, get a real education (mail order from the back of a matchbook does not count),learn how to conduct interviews, buy their own clothes, and realize the strategically Russia probably doesn't think of Alaska as part of the US.

Intersting that Palin says Couric is not the center of the Universe but Palin wants to be the Center of the Universe/Attention.

People think that electing a Democrat will bankrupt the country?

Number of counties by state in the 100 poorest counties: Texas, 17; Kentucky, 16; Mississippi, 14; South Dakota, 10; Louisiana, 5; Alabama, 4; Georgia, 4; Montana, 4; New Mexico, 4; North Dakota, 3; Arizona, 2; Idaho, 2; Nebraska, 2; Tennessee, 2; West Virginia, 2; Alaska, 1; Arkansas, 1; Colorado, 1; Florida, 1; Missouri, 1; Oklahoma, 1; South Carolina, 1; Utah, 1; Wisconsin, 1.

(Twenty-six states do not have any counties in the 100 poorest counties.)

These are all Republican states, with the exception of Colorado and New Mexico, which just turned Democrat this election cycle.

Is it really possible anyone could call Caroline Kennedy by the name "Carolyn" Kennedy, and think it was correct?

You gotta' love Sarah Palin. She is pure entertainment.

When she made that comment about Katie Couric not being the center of everyone's universe, I felt like I was eavesdropping on my 8th grade daughter in a fight with a friend.

"yea- and those jeans make you look fat, and everyone knows you stuff your bra!"

Jeez, is this woman actually the governor of a state? She is like a middle schooler.

After the election Sarah did show some humility by saying that she was sorry if she cost McCain any votes. I thought there might be some hope for her after all.

That lasted about, oh, 5 seconds!

This was amusing to read right after watching Ann Coulter talking about the left making making victims out of everyone. Apparently it's fine to whine as long as you are on the right? I say the sooner we stop paying attention to every stupid and/or inflammatory thing these people say, the sooner they will shut up and go away...

It's funny how people love katie now ,I remember a short time ago it seemed she was going to get the boot from her job ,rating down etc see it just take one person that you hate more to make katie look sooo great.Sarah was that person I'm not saying it wrong or wright it just shows how shallow people are to jump hating one to hating another more .

Blamey Whinehouse...instant icon.

Please run in 2012, Blamey. We need this. We deserve it. After eight years of Bush, it's the least the GOP can do to make amends.

Combine ALL OF THIS with Stoooopid and it's pretty darn dangerous. After the first week of seeing Palin I recognized her as the classic narcissist. She doesn't miss a one here, does she?

Oh Jon...don't forget she'd have to LEARN HOW TO THINK in addition to changing WHAT she thinks....lol. We love ya Jon.

Symptoms
Narcissistic personality disorder symptoms may include:

Believing that you're better than others
Fantasizing about power, success and attractiveness
Exaggerating your achievements or talents
Expecting constant praise and admiration
Believing that you're special
Failing to recognize other people's emotions and feelings (Remember her ignoring Biden's choking up?)
Expecting others to go along with your ideas and plans
Taking advantage of others
Expressing disdain for those you feel are inferior
Being jealous of others
Believing that others are jealous of you
Trouble keeping healthy relationships
Setting unrealistic goals
Being easily hurt and rejected
Having a fragile self-esteem
Appearing as tough-minded or unemotional
Although some features of narcissistic personality disorder may seem like having confidence or strong self-esteem, it's not the same. Narcissistic personality disorder crosses the border of healthy confidence and self-esteem into thinking so highly of yourself that you put yourself on a pedestal. In contrast, people who have healthy confidence and self-esteem don't value themselves more than they value others.

I laughed long and loudly at the Daily Show segment. After the past eight years we must not forget the destructive power of monumental incompetence combined with world class arrogance. Palin and GW Bush two peas in a pod.
