It's all part of the big adventure, Mr. President.
I need to be on the mall, shoulder to shoulder with other Americans. My struggle to get there and return home safely will symbolize what your administration means to me, Mr. President.
.
How deep Glowcy! Well said.
I'm WAY more interested in watching the masses run King George W out of town. I hope it rivals his inauguration reception.
I wouldn’t miss it for the world, Mr. President. Though I can imagine how brutal the traffic to and from New York City will be.
I would think getting to NYC would be easy. It will be getting to DC that will be the challenge!
He's leading by example and that's just one of the reason I support him.
Whether people choose to be in Washington DC or not, I would dare say that EVERY TV set, in EVERY corner of the world will be on at the moment Obama is sworn in as the 44TH PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.
You betcha! I will be watching from Montreal, Quebec, CANADA!
Wouldn't a better headline have been:
Obama On Inauguration: Join in wherever you are
Sorry PE...my daughter is going and she willdress warm for the occasion. And I would not want her to miss this for the world....
Since I live in the general vicinity, I cannot NOT show up for this historic event. I witnessed Mandela's first visit here after his release from prison, I've attended other events that I considered significant in my life as a citizen and as an individual American, so I am looking forward to standing shoulder to shoulder with others that also want America to move in a better direction and want better from our government. I will DVR the program at home to watch it later, but Tuesday is about community.
I'm not interested in this spectacle.
At all.
There's absolutely no attraction to me.
I'll be one whose watching reruns and avoiding the hoopla.
I did. I supported Hillary in the primary.
I never joined the Democrats after the primary.
I honestly don't think I ever will be a hardcore Democrat again.
I do like Obama so far, and I like his cabinet picks. I think his remarks are appropriate. I am not a critic.
But I'm also not enthused.
I think the hoopla is over-the-top, given the dire situation we're in.
I don't like Greek columns.
I wanted someone who could speak fluently about the specifics as well as generalities. He's good on general. He's not so good on specifics.
I do understand the significance of the first AA president, and I think he's quite qualified to fill those shoes.
I just am also not an Obama fan.
BUT......I
We're all so glad that you have decided not to be part of the solution but to remain a part of the problem...
Yeah... history is just so boring.
On behalf of those who will be a part of this once in a lifetime event, thanks for making a little more room on the mall.
LOL...Grea
Dang Military Mom THAT was a good one....LOL
lol
lol
I'll be at home in front of my TV. No need to go to Washington. Can't afford to even if I wanted to go. Times are hard everybody I know is economizing.
I'm be watching it with 15 guests at an Inauguration Brunch in my home. We'll be celebrating this momentous historical event all day!
Yup... not to mention... I hate crowds. Just the thought of all those people surrounding me gives me the willies. I'll be at home... in comfort... watching it all.
I plan to be in DC,
Home is the best place to be. We can send our thoughts and prayers to Washington D.C. to be with him.
I have already put in for vacation time for January 20, 2009. I planned it almost 1 year ago. I knew that Obama was going to be our next president and have been looking forward to it for just as long. I have also been looking for the moment that the Bushes and the Cheneys get on their airplanes and get the heck out of DC and I have been looking forward to that for 8 years. I have saved some of my July 4 fireworks and will be purchasing champagne to pop open just as the moment arrives. Happy Days are here again.
"I knew that Obama was going to be our next president and have been looking forward to it for just as long."
Agreed. But, as an AA who voted in the primary and general election and gave money all throughout, I did not cry when he won the primary and general election. I cried went Hillary and the GOP were playing the Southern Strategy and the gender card knowing full well Obama could not respond due to his race. But boy I'm I happy and excited for him and for us in this great moment in U.S. history.
This is what I voted for. I had tears running down my face as I watched his message and imagined the possibilities. God bless and protect Barack Hussein Obama!
